Maybe you've heard of Kodamas? Little Tree Spirits that inhabit area and protect the forest.

They're cute and mischievous, however don't treat them badly... try and cut them down, use them as holiday ornaments and such, then you could end up with a terrible curse on your hands.

This one was on a journey with a friend but has unfortunately been separated... Maybe we'll find them later...
