TLDR: Don't join my Patreon via iOS unless you like giving extra money to a trillion dollar corporation!
I just wanted to let you all know that Apple recently implemented their platform fees on the iOS version of the Patreon app. If you are a new subscriber (or cancel and resubscribe) via the iOS Patreon app you will be charged extra cash that goes straight into Apple's pocket. I don't get any of it!
For example, signing up for Total Glutton via iOS will cost you $14.50 a month instead of the normal $10! That's almost 50% more!
Even worse, any subscriptions charged this way are held by Apple for 75 days, so I don't earn anything until that timer expires!
You can read about it here if you want the fine details. But long story short, by signing up via iOS you are paying more for the same content.
You can avoid this by subscribing on desktop, your mobile browser, or the Android Patreon app.
