Hey everyone!
There's no attempt to perfume these words. The Early Access Cut can't be finished by the end of this week. This is another example of how "providing ETAs" comes back to bite me in the ass. I apologize. There were unforeseen issues that needed resolving, and then the VA Cut for my voice actresses took three days to render before I could get it to them. The good news is that they have the VA Cut, and are currently preparing their voice-overs.
What remains? While I wait for their voice-overs to be finished, I will be polishing things that the VA Cut revealed. And then I'll be doing a final pass at physics. Once the voice-overs are delivered, I'll be animating lipsync and facial expressions. And then the final cut will (no doubt) take just as long as the VA Cut (3-4 days) to render. As much as I don't want to provide another ETA, I'll at least provide a window of when to expect the scene to be completed. I predict between May 17th to May 24th.
As many of you know, I dove into this particular project with a plan to deliver it in one month. I failed. I'm sorry. The project turned out to be 9 minute long, and a variety of factors slowed me down. The facehugger tail, while enjoyable to see return, took forever to animate. And EEVEE Next, as impressed as I am with it, takes twice as long to render. So it really is a middle-of-the-road render engine between Cycles and Old EEVEE. But as you've seen in the WIP Clips, the upgrade is definitely noticeable.
At this point I am seriously considering dropping the "monthly content" promise and updating the tier benefit descriptions. I still want to produce content that takes 1-2 months to make. But the wording of the tier benefits will be more forgiving. Once again I apologize for not having this Early Access scene done this week.
