Ninja Resurrection – August 14th

1998 is a bad year for anime and from that year of troubled productions and Evangelion rip-offs spawned Ninja Resurrection, one of the most infamous titles to have ever come out of the dying days of the OVA era. Yaz is back! Before he did Venus Wars, Yoshikazu Yasuhiko cashed in his check with Sunrise to do a big budget adaptation of another manga of his, the sword-and-sandle epic Arion. Witness the dazzling display as Yasuhiko tries to capture the essence of Greek mythology into film form. Making what is essentially an early Studio Ghibli film minus the Ghibli.

Dark Cat – October 16th

Bad horror movies are a dime a dozen, but bad horror anime is a much rarer find. Even budget title like The Curse of Kazuo Umezu and Maryuu Senki still had their share of scares. That’s not the case for Dark Cat. Often considered to be the worst horror anime ever, the only shocking thing about it is how it seems to get everything wrong.
