Sorry that this one is a little late, but the upcoming quarterly schedule is here now. So let’s see what are the latest episodes of KYOTO VIDEO coming down the pipeline.
Bobby’s In Deep – February 11th: We take a look at one of Madhouse’s early work before the start of their Golden Age of the late 80s and how it turned what could’ve been a cynical ploy to market an up-and-coming idol singer into one of the most stylishly animated short films of the 1980s.
Hannapei Bazooka – February 25th: What’s happens when the creator of Devilman teams up with the creator of Mad Bull 34? A whole lot of nonsense that’s what. See what happens when manga legends Go Nagai and Kazuo Koike indulge in their worst aspects to deliver the hunk of mean-spirited insanity that is the 1992 sex comedy OVA Hannapei Bazooka.
KYOTO VIDEO’S 100TH EPISODE – March 14th: KYOTO VIDEO will celebrate its 100th episode with a subject that will be announced at a later date.
Root’s Search – March 28th: It’s high time KYOTO VIDEO lays into some truly bad anime. The roast material this go-round is the 1986 Alien rip-off Root’s Search. A truly baffling and very cheap OVA effort brought to us courtesy by the same production company that gave us The Humanoid.
Demon City Shinjuku – April 15th: As I mentioned before, the latter half of the 80s was easily Madhouse’s Golden Age and now we get to talk about that age’s true peak with 1988’s Demon City Shinjuku. Yoshiaki Kawajiri is back at it again adapting a Hideyuki Kikuchi in his trademark style befitting action-horror and this time, he’s going all in to make it an earth-shattering blockbuster.
Comic Party Revolution – April 29th: Did you know I like Comic Party? Did you know that anime got a second season four years after the first? Did you know that season is not that great? Find out where this continuation to a dating sim adaption failed and why it failed so hard.
That's all for now. Thank you once again for your support!
