Yo!
You heard the title correctly. KYOTO VIDEO the series is taking a brief hiatus for the rest of the month of August! Once I release the long-awaited Voltage Fighter Gowcaizer video in the next few days, I’m taking a much-needed summer vacation from this show!
I have several reasons for doing so. One is just the risk of burn out. While that Christmas break did help at the end of last year, those burn out feelings really did come back. Doing near back-to-back-back videos on Otaku no Video, Horus, and Nausicaa will do that to a person. Exacerbated by one of those versions being removed off the Internet for the near future for reasons that are beyond my control. I thought I could ride it out and eventually get back into my groove, but it’s clear to anyone with eyes that my production schedule has slipped. If I keep plugging forward, it will just result in a slower release schedule and weaker works. So, I’m putting this show on the backburner for the time being so it can reset my production output when I finally get back around to it.
There is another reason for me wanting to take this break. I’ve gotten one or two comments this past year and a half asking where the final episode of the Merrie History of Looney Tunes is. Frankly, I would like to know to. I did plan on working on it while I did my main show since it is a side project. But the general scope of the video is so much bigger than previous episodes. I’m covering multiple decades of history instead of 5 to 10 year periods after all. It’s just too massive a project to work on the side. It requires all of my focus.
So even though KYOTO VIDEO is going on vacation, don’t expect me to be rest on my laurels. The most of August is gonna be one of devoting myself to getting out that final episode. Don’t ask me when it will be coming out, though. No hard deadline is set but I am aiming for post-Labor Day. In the meantime, I might show off previews of the video to eligible Patrons sometime this month. A little cash always production run a bit more smoothly after all.
So, in short, KYOTO VIDEO is taking an extended break after Voltage Fighter Gowcaizer goes up to relieve stress off of me, reset the overall production schedule, and take more time to work on the final episode of Merrie History of Looney Tunes! It will return in September with a schedule for eligible Patrons.
That’s all for now! Stay tunes for the next round of tapes!
