Xiao [+ sketches]

I have been severely lacking in drawing lately. I haven't had time to do anything of my own because of work. Luckily I have made it to all the deadlines, barely though, but still made it Kinda.

Anyways, Patreon poll has been noted, next one is going to be the ice one. Won't promise when it comes out, as currently I'm struggling with life. As always. The usual with me really. And part of that struggle was apparently me getting slowly realizing how much I actually like Xiao from Genshin Impact. Part of that struggle apparently also was Genshin Impact. Who would have guessed? 

But enough about that, I mean the designs for characters are really good, part of the reason why I used one Genshin character for practice AGAIN. This time I tried a new sketching technique? I mean I guess it's new. I was really unhappy how few of my earlier sketches (of Xiao) turned out so I had to kinda go all out for new technique so I'd get it right. Another new thing I tired was to get that edge-light between shadows and light to be more noticeable and colorful... If that is how you explain it. Probably not, it's late, I'm tired and I barely know what I'm talking about anyways so this is the best explanation you are getting. I think the shading turned out fine, but I did not succeed on my edge-light attempt. Or maybe I did at one point but struggling to figure out what colors to use in the background made everything die probably. Well whatever, I tried a lot of things with this one, I know it's lacking fed of the key design elements of Xiao, but it's fiiiiiiinneeeeeeee.

Now if you excuse me, I need to go back and animate like 1 minute of random shit. It is not fun, it's actually not even animating, but it's for work and I need to do it today, rip.
