Finally got myself up to do this. Link here
Little confession: I have been little scared to do this update. I mean, I felt as if I had to make it perfect right now or otherwise this is pointless. I mean I know I'm the type to need to show results otherwise I will see it as failure. And like... yeah fixing text according to feeback is progress and showing, but all the characters being so lifeless were making me doubt it. (Thanks for those btw! I'm so happy to hear all of it. And especially huge credit to Rain who literally went over half of the current script, with me and then on his own and helped me to fix a lot of writing problems!)
What's new?
- Updated the name-input to be only fit certain
- Fixed at least all the misspellings (Won't promise all the words are correct versions tho lol.)
- Each time character speaks their mouth opens according to the expression.
- Added more animations/liveliness to sprites.
- Added 6 new poses for Rina. In total Rina has 7 poses which in total have 18 expressions.
- Added 2 new poses for Sean. In total Sean has 3 poses (2 that can be seen) which in total have 12 expressions.
- Added 1 new pose for Michael, only code wise, it is yet to be shown. In total Michael has 6 expressions. (His poses are hardest to draw, grief)
- Added 3 new poses for Ian. In total Ian has 4 poses which in total has 12 expressions. (And he was meant to be the "least expressive" character lol)
- Finally implimented "Phone" visuals. There is currently 5 phone visuals and plans to add visuals for each time you exchange numbers with someone.
- Little improvements and changes in the backgrounds.
What's next?
- Getting sketches done for background art for Michael's house, Rina's house, rest of Sean's shop (also candy-scene) and Player's house.
- Adding few new poses/expressions for Michael.
- Adding "special sprites" for few scenes.
- Adding the "Evening Hangouts" that are currently disabled.
- Adding at least one CG-pic for each Hangout event.
- Fix sprites: Right now all the sprites are drawing in a way that if I implement them straight into the game, Sean would be too tall. That is why in Sean's scenes he and all characters are moved slightly down. This causes confusion in later scenes and with some movement coding. So I gotta cut off these character's legs a little lol.
But these are only what I'm thinking of focusing on next.
I mean I also have to actually draw everything, get the music for the game, sound effects, completely write the routes, etc.
But more on those later. Until next update! I will try to keep the Christmas deadline still going! ^^
