Good news! We were able to make a significant engine upgrade Behind-The-Scenes on New Cyana! This opens up more tools and better compatibility for world construction and testing. This will be handy as the map continues to increase in complexity.
[10:47 PM] This has been quite a major step for Unity's stability as well, Unity 2017 was a bit of a crashy mess when it came to handling multiple large terrain files. The mid-2018 version we've stepped up to can handle the entire island chain all at once without breaking. The trick now is getting the terrain, water, and terrain/occlusion culling systems to work together.
[10:48 PM] Occlusion Culling a complex system layered onto a complex system....but damn does it improve the framerate.
