Apr 2025 Sticker Preview & Forecast!

Magnanimous friends. Howwwwwwwww is it already second quarter?! And end of the tax year here...among many other things. Seriously, time makes no sense. And at the speed it's going, it almost makes me feel more nostalgic...which is a not-so-subtle segue to introducing this month's sticker theme!

If this looks familiar to you, I'm sorry-not-sorry for banking on the nostalgic factor! But in all seriousness, this actually was an idea that I had for over a year now. I just wasn't sure about whether it would fit in with the regular themes I've been doing. Considering I've already had some fanart themes AND non-Bun/Ping stickers, I figured it was about time! And hopefully it's not too obscure...

If you're not familiar with it, this is a parody of the game series Cooking Mama, first of which was on the OG Nintendo DS. I still have my DSLite floating around somewhere, and I seriously thought about pulling it out to play a bit! But for now, there is also a mobile version on iOS and Android, and while I'm #NotSponsored, if you're looking for a fun and cute cozy game, it's even got a farming mode in it!! Be warned though, I will not take any responsibility for any induced hunger from playing lololol. Oh, and apparently there's a crafting version out there now too?! Huh.

At any rate, I actually had a lot of fun with this sheet, and I hope you enjoy them as well!! It really feels like I'm only just getting over whatever the hell happened to me in February/March...and unfortunately I can't say that I'm still back to full battery yet. Aside from a couple of minor 🙃 health concerns, there were also still dregs of the Espresso Depresso hanging about. Still, we persist, because what other option is there, right?

Now that the weather is finally turning ever so slightly spring-like here (we had one weekend of near-summer, then it was back to winter again lol), I've actually been musing on some local endeavours, beyond the workshops I keep saying I'll do. But I think what I have planned will be a good first step towards building back up to that, because it will (hopefully) be much lower-pressure for me, so I won't get all up in my head about it. So we'll see how it goes! I don't wanna say too much in case I chicken out again, but let's just say that the Travel Sketches collection will hopefully be growing as a result of this as well... 👀

As for the online world! I've pretty much stopped opening the Instagram app after removing it from my home screen and suggestions, and I have to say, it's been a huge boost to me. Not endlessly doomscrolling actually gets me to do other things WHO KNEW?! I've even been reading physical books, and not to jinx it but I'm well on track to my reading challenge -- 11/24 so far and it's only (already) Q2! The more I read, the more I keep thinking back to my original desire to do book covers. I'm hesitant on this front though because...well, it's a tenuous landscape at present, to say the least. But, nothing ventured, nothing gained, right...? So we'll see where I end up in that vein.

However, I still am trying to be even more active on YouTube! The knowledge sharing that I've been doing for the shorts truly is fulfilling to me, and it's something I want to continue doing because it seriously is the direction I feel I want to go with my art career. So if there are any topics (not just Procreate!) that you'd like me to talk about, please do let me know! As I always say, I'm no expert and my way might not be the right way, but I am more than happy to share what I do know, and learn what I don't! Of course no pressure whatsoever because you already support me by being here, but I would hugely appreciate if you check out my channel over there! There's not currently a schedule but I'm trying to be consistent and regular, I swear! 😅

From the bottom of my heart, truly, thank you for your ongoing support. There are still so many days where I feel like I should just give up and go back to "real life", and the never-ending self-doubt still hovers over me...but every little like/heart and little sign that people actually see and like my stuff adds another brick to the wall that keeps those negative thoughts at bay. It may seem like comments and shares and all that typical social media junk is pointless, but seriously, it means so so much. It means that I get a sign that I'm not just doing things in a void -- that you are there and listening. And for that, I thank you once again. 💖
