So with my writing suffering recently due to my limited time with work, I figured I would keep everyone satiated by giving a breakdown the setting for the upcoming story. Love y'all and hope you enjoy.
Setting:
Itha is the last free land on the continent from The Empire. The people of the city state embrace extreme isolationism, and refused to partake in any of the alliances that formed to resist Imperial Will. Generally, the belief is held that the people are safe from any invading force. The extreme mountainous region the city inhabits acts as a nearly perfect natural barrier. Enemy forces are not used to the thin air, extreme cold, deep snow, and scarce resources.
In recent months the empire finally focused its gaze onto the high cities. Traditional formation tactics were attempted and resulted in complete failure. The shock troops Itha employs decimated thousands of soldier while only taking minimal to no casualties in all engagements.
The empires greatest defeat since its founding happened, when the Itha military lined a ridge with explosives, and brought an avalanche down onto fifteen thousand imperial soldiers. After the snow settled, Itha sent in its elite ski troops to murder any soldiers who climbed out of the snow.
This took place in what is widely considered the only reasonable valley to access the lands within Itha's borders form the south. All bodies were left to remind any entering imperial soldiers what awaits them in the arctic mountains.
Now the empire has brought all of its might to crush the rebellious people. A force of 118,000 soldiers has been formed to march up to the city of Itha it self and bring unity to the continent. In response, Itha's limited military of only 43,000 men total has doubled down on gorilla tactics. Refusing to engage in any major conflicts. Instead, using their greater mobility to strike imperial supply lines; the greatest weakness of an army so large.
All imperial soldiers risk starvation within the the snow. We will follow one particular soldier named Nik. A member of the Red Hand; The Empire's most loyal and effective killers as he, and his unit, go deep within Itha's boarders to find any information that could give the Empire an edge it desperately needs and its massive force begins to enter Itha's heartland.
