Matt and I spent the last couple months working with Magic Wand (Yes, that one) to illustrate ten of their product testimonials into... well. Illustrations.

The client assembled a spreadsheet of full quotes, like this one:

"Huge power in a tiny package!! Honestly, my wife and I did not know what to expect when we first saw this toy. It is adorably small, but that does not mean it doesn’t have enough power to know your socks off (if they aren’t already off). Got it to use in positions where the full size version may not be practical and we both came with the first use! Would 100% recommend this to anyone wanting big power from a small package. One con to some may be that it is not particularly quiet, but noise level does not bother us so I can’t dock it points for that."

Which she then condensed down to just the most essential and illustrate-able portion, like, "It is adorably small, but that does not mean it doesn’t have enough power to know your socks off."

Then I'd take a stab at a handful of different interpretations of those words.

Originally I only submitted sketches A, B, and C, and our client commented how she liked the action of A and the storytelling of C, which really showed the the power of their Micro wand. With that feedback, I came up with D, which shows this tiny guy packing an outsized amount of strength and it keeps the fun movement of my very first sketch! It's definitely the strongest composition and I wouldn't have put it together without being inspired from our client's feedback.

Drawing this one really felt like a pleasure. This was one of those illustrations where I felt like, "Ok. I do know how to draw and it does feel good to draw."

And then Matt finished it off with colors and adding the final text! We made a whole gaggle of them:

Magic Wand gave me permission to share 'em with you guys before they're officially debuted on their site and some other places online. Sooooo sneak peak! Enjoy!
