In honor of what would have been folsom street fair in San Francisco, I've been shopping for leather accessories. I found a belt/skirt similar to this, but it didn't come in the color I wanted and was really expensive. And as I've done in that situation in the past I decided to try to make it myself. I've never tried leatherwork before so I knew it would be a challenge...and it was. But holy shit you guys I'm pretty proud of it! I had to learn about rivet sizing and all the tools involved with leatherwork and my finger is bruised from hitting it with a rubber mallet. It took a few weeks for it to come together, but I'm happy I have another craft interest I can play with. So for those of you who didn't know, I wanted to show another side of my creativity. My art is not confined just to photography!
I'd like to do a small shoot with the entire outfit I made this for soon, but I wanted to give this its own spotlight because I literally just finished it 30 mins ago.
