The Sketch-Aid poll at the start of the month was really close. Obvs the Batgirl gag thing won out, but close second was a sketch of Goth Domme-d Tia. It was a sketch I kind of liked the concept of, but there was something off with it..
So, since it was so close to winning anyway, I decided to try and see what I could do with it.
And here's the result! Enjoy! :)
In the original sketch, I realized I'd drawn GD too tall. Tia is quite tall, and GD is, in my head, kind of "regular" height. Unfortunately, this kind of threw off the balance of the whole picture, since GD's word balloon was above Tia's head. Hence why I had to add Tia's response, too! Though I kind of like her responding, too :)
You might have noticed that I have real difficulties doing just characters on a white background! I was super close to adding a background to this as well. I see all these artists I admire doing really clean pics, with no backgrounds at all.. .and I wonder how they make it work. In this one I eventually settled for some minimal color because just having it white was tooooo scary! :D
For Tia's little top, I tried to emulate how WossaRem does shiny, satin-y nightgowns and stuff. I don't quite have it done as good as he does yet. I'll work on it! :)
