PICS HERE
NOTICE: All the pictures in this link are of consenting adults performing in role play scenarios. Jo and the animals are best friends!
Scenes such as the ones portrayed herein should always be safe, sane and consensual. And fun for everyone involved!

Heeyyy!
It's the behind the scenes of this silly picture! :D
As usual, I recommend downloading the attachments, rather than doing Save As on the pictures, just so you're sure to get the correct size, filename etc :)
This'll be a little write-up, and then there's a time lapse of some of the process below! I unfortunately didn't quite manage to get the whole thing on camera...
Ok on with it!

Hogties! Hogties for Jo!
I've been loving crossed legged hogties currently for some reason, so I started sketching that. My idea to have Jo on the coffee table came pretty early. I had other ideas for the scenario for the picture, but I might do those at some later point ;)

At first I'd just planned on having the "main" picture - not the little mini comic thing before it. But I started sketching a bit on Jo's confused and anxious reaction to finding out she'd won, and found it too funny not to include.

Eventually I ended up with this! The top row is, as you can see, pretty much finished already in the blue sketch. Though I think this is actually my 2nd pass at it. I started doing some line art that I didn't like the look of, and just recolored blue and drew on top of it. But really, this is quite a lot like it'll turn out, despite being a first sketch.

-PIC MOVED

I went over the blue sketch with some red, more refined sketching. Mostly everything is here, like it'll eventually turn out. I always plannned for Jo to get cake smooshed in her face, but I drew the rest of the face under it first, so it'd look correct.

 -PIC MOVED

I didn't bother red sketching the top row of pictures, because they were completed enough in the blue. Worked out some more background and stuff thought...
Jo's sofa and coffee table is something I've featured in a lot of pics, but never really decided on a design for at all. I kind of wanted it to feel a bit cheap in this one.
Did some sort of perspective, but I wasn't too bothered if it was accurate or not. This is such a closely cropped panel, and we see so little of the background, that perspective isn't a huge issue, I think :)

Here's the finished red sketch!
I added in Panda, and a bunch of little detail stuff.
Jo's house should look messy, and especially now that they're "celebrating". Plus, little details in the background always help when I need just a splash of green or blue here and there for example. Just to keep the color balanced over the entire picture.

 -PIC MOVED

I started drawing the top row first! I actually think I inked the top row before I'd sketched out the red on the rest of the picture...
I had SUCH trouble with Jo's face, especially on the one to the right.
The sketch felt like... correct, but when I tried to do lines on top of it it just looked awful!
I think it's because with the wide, sketchy lines, your brain fills in the blurs and blanks. But with sharp and crisp lines, there's no faking it :O

 -PIC MOVED

Here's the bottom panel on it's own. At this point I feel like it's still lacking some detail, and I sort of feel like there are parts getting lost in the mess of lines....

 -PIC MOVED

So I add some details around the background. Just general messyness. And I fill in some outlines with heavier blacks. Just to make Jo stand out a bit more. And so lineart is done!

Flat colors!
I wanted a pastel-y, nice color scheme to contrast with the harsh situation. That's usually how I feel about the Jo pics. Harsh subject/nice mood :)
What you're seeing here though, is the end result of sooo much fussing about with color sliders and stuff. You'll see it if you look at the time lapse video. I really couldn't decide on ANYTHING :D The pink tape I reverted back to at like the last second, when the picture was basically already done. I've started a bit of patterning in this, but...

 -PIC MOVED

here it is with finished patterns and textures and stuff.
Patterns, little texture details like the messy plates, and little logos and stuff I find is such a good way to help the world feel more lived in.
In this I also put a warming filter on the entire picture. I do that a lot to tie a pictures colors together. I added some white outlines around important bits (like Jo) to make them stand out even more in the mess of stuff :D

Here's the pattern I whipped up for the sofa. It looked like such a big blob of color without any pattern on it.
I like making little patterns for stuff ;)

Shades!
The shadow on this one is just a layer set to multiply on top of the rest of the color. Standard I guess.
Sometimes I go really hard on shadows and light and stuff, but I wanted this to be quite comic-y feeling and not too dark or shaded. And frankly I didn't have either time nor energy to do a super advanced shading job. And I liked the look like this, anyway :)

 -PIC MOVED

Highlights and light and that!
I kept this quite simple as well. But I thought it'd be nice with a strong highlight to accentuate the contours of Jo.

 -PIC MOVED

And here's the finished thing, without text/word ballons!
I added some extra bits above the lines like highlights, and shiny bits on the nylons and pantyhose, sweat drops and movement lines, and some glowy things. Just general a general little pass of things that make the pic pop a bit more :)

And that's it!
Thanks so much for voting Jo as the winner for this poll, everyone! I'm sure she's super thrilled about it too though she doesn't show it right now! :D

And as always, thanks so much for supporting my patreon! You're just the BEST :) <3 <3
