An email from listener Rafferty T:

"I'm a Ph.D. student in sociology at Stony Brook University. I'm currently researching prediction markets, and I was wondering if you could ask listeners of the show who trade in prediction markets if they would be interested in being interviewed for my research. All of their information will be kept private and any reference to them in any subsequent writing would not use their real names or any identifying information.

My email is [email protected].

Put simply, I'm curious about the dynamic that you, Starlee, and Jon often talk about: betting with your hearts or betting with your head. I'm researching how traders in political prediction think about political processes and market processes. What does it do to people to think of politics like a market? How do traders assess the prices and probabilities that prediction markets elicit? Also, I'm interested to know if people face moral dilemmas in prediction markets. Prediction markets currently have a somewhat dubious legal standing: when talking about prediction markets, do traders have to convince their friends and loved ones that prediction markets are ethical?"
