I grew up with Disney's Robin Hood, and like so many adult furries now, it definitely made a for real-ass impact on the way I look at anthro guys. I thought Little John (and later Baloo) was just so funny and tubby and cute and hadn't pieced together that I would exclusively date round fuzzy men like him in the future. The Sheriff has a similar build and could be argued is even hotter as he's got that whistle in his voice and the bad boy thing going for him. Of course when I was young I never thought a bad guy could be attractive: That territory would only get discovered much later for me! And Robin himself, well, he's there in this pic because he, like me, would be falling quickly to his knees in the middle of Sherwood Forest to take care of these burly blokes! And I think it's cute that Little John is eager to share his boyfriend's talents with a new friend! It's actually crazy to me that I've never drawn Robin Hood characters before this piece. I guess sometimes the most obvious subject choices can still be elusive.
So originally this one was going to be a pairing but then I got convinced to make it a trio and I'm happy I went with it. The more characters a piece has the longer it takes, almost always, and that's why I rarely draw more than two detailed dudes in a pic. So this one would have taken a few days regardless, and then there was being sick for 5 days between starting it and finishing it... Let's just say I'm glad it's done and I'm onto the next thing. As pleased as I am with the final product here, there were like two days where I was at my desk, too sick to work staring at my screen with a stylus in my hand and nothing but pressure and congestion in my head making it impossible to create anything. I don't really blame this image for any of that but now for me it has that unsavory connection, lol.
