Hello, Special Agents!
Ilano finished the reference sheet for Kira’s character in a sequel, hopefully, if support continues to grow then we’ll get to start making her 3D model during next month along with finishing Caron’s HCG and releasing build 0.32 of the current game.
Here are some low-resolution pictures of her character sheet:
The sequel is set 5 years after the first game, so we took the liberty to make Kira a little bit thicc and design a more sexy outfit for her. The players usually look at the character from the back while playing third-person games in 3D, so it can be useful. The game will feature several other companions with different body types depending on the current character preference poll, so hopefully, everybody will find a personal waifu.
Let’s talk about the results of the previous 3D visual style poll, here they are:
I’m okay with clean surfaces like Overwatch and some clear sci-fi surfaces from Mass Effect, but going full-Fortnite would be too much, so I found a solution when I was looking at art books of these games which I use for studying their visual style.
Here is some rough example of how some detailed box can be made more cartoony by clearing diffuse and normal maps a little bit with the proper color adjustment:
So if you remember our previous post about a sequel, the interior of the main spaceship will be re-styled in 3D to have more visual consistency of the rooms. Each will room will have some unique features, of course, but the idea is to make them look more in one style. I assembled several options of how this re-styling color palette can look like, please, choose some of them that you like and the ship interior will be made with this color palette. This poll works similarly to our previous Paradise color palette poll, so some of these concepts could be used in the future for other levels, not only the main ship.

This question is quite relevant and the results of the poll will be collected on the 14th of June. Main characters’ models will be done separately by 3D artist so I want to make a spaceship interior/some decorations earlier because it can be tested with default test character in a game.
I hope to assemble some simple technical demo of the sequel with basic gameplay to receive your feedback in July if we manage to finish and integrate her 3D model in time. Hopefully, along with a small tech demo of the other 2D project, too.
