Stage 3 and its visual look poll

Hey guys!

Let’s talk about Stage 3 and what will happen next.

Chapter 3 is a series of missions that occur in the Paradise - an underground cyberpunk town that is owned by corporation Z. It was built in the artificial cavern of this asteroid after the corp failed to make proper public housing for its employees and less important test subjects. The security of Paradise is provided by a complex system that can spawn different security robots on-demand and each of them can be controlled remotely by a human operator from the unknown Corporation Z facility. The guns are forbidden in this town, which means that criminals among the test subjects prefer to use melee implants or some exotic weaponry.

The town is divided into several sections and the main task for our girls is to infiltrate the town and get information about the location of the place where Corporation Z keeps the most important test subjects and how to get there. The human top management of the corporation and its human security personnel doesn’t live in Paradise, so Kira, Sigolla, Caron, and Ming will have to climb from the social bottom to the top in this complex environment. Hopefully, every girl will receive at least several missions to play.

This chapter is the middle of the game’s plot and it will be the longest chapter to implement because of the amount of content in it. I want to research the possibility of integrating dialogue choices into the in-game cutscenes, too, because our current non-linear missions are too simple. This location will also require some simple mechanics for undercover gameplay (I want to implement safe/not safe zones like in modern Deus Ex games when you have to do some actions only in the areas without security surveillance or it will trigger chaos and suppression by force).

You will also encounter the first enemy boss, Sora (“Pet Sassy”) somewhere in stage 3 along with the opportunity to avoid a fight with her:

The level design of this series of missions will be improved, too, because instead of building the level from the small blocks (walls/floors/etc.), I want to prepare lots of premade small level sections that have lots of different elements to make large locations with different level design. A similar idea was used in Skyrim to build dungeons when the developers composed the level not only from walls/floors but even large caverns with lots of elements were used as level design parts. The level design set which I chose from the Asset Store has lots of elements and it’s more varied than any mesh set that we used for Stage 1 or 2.

I would like to know your opinion about what color palette should be dominating in the Paradise and into what art direction should I look for this series of missions. I rendered several simple screenshots using several elements of the Stage 3 level design set to compare. There will be different sub-locations with different colors, of course, but there should be some common art direction for this chapter anyway. You can choose more than one option in this poll, too. The results will be collected on 3 November along with HCG poll results.

P.S. I received an updated Ming’s in-game rig today with some fixes from the artist. There were lots of details to fix about her cloak, so I will start animating her tomorrow.  There are only three days left of October, so I guess new sex scenes with Ming will be present in the same new build 0.22 with voiced-over Riley’s HCG. I aim to release it closer to the end of the first week of November (in 7-10 days).

What color palette do you like more?
