Last thing he remembers, Asgore was just helping Toriel do an errand for Kris. Next thing he knew, he was stuck in a strange world made out of cards and chess pieces. He was already on his way to be thrown into the dungeon when the King with the spade for a face notices him, says that he will enlist him in his army... and that his compliance is not a factor.
