Hello everyone,
It's time to look into this month's upcoming releases and updates and recap last month's releases.
For this month, we have planned the following maps:
Next week, I'll set up a poll about the urban combat zone and the scrapyard maps.
Last month, we made the following new releases:
New assets and Foundry VTT modules are still a work in progress.
These delays are inexcusable, and we have taken steps to remedy the situation.
In short, there have been some growing pains as Miska's Maps has gone from a one-man company working out of my basement to a three-man team with a small office in six months.
To address these delays, we have made a few changes.
We are streamlining our creative focus and how our team works to improve the consistency and quality of Miska's Maps releases.
From now on, I will focus on art direction and operations. In addition to communication and management, this includes map design, asset creation, and Foundry VTT support.
Leo and Samuli will continue as map and asset artists.
We will streamline the release packs so that there will be fewer content packs to download, making them easier to prepare, organize, and maintain.
There will also be some updates to the Patreon tiers and their rewards to reflect these changes. Mostly, we are clarifying the tier contents and making them more into "packages" with related content. They will also align more with the other Miska's Patreon projects.
More on the tier updates next week as we finalize the details.
For some time now, our goal has been to focus on assets and tools for map customization and easy-to-use drop-in content for Foundry VTT and other VTTs – besides regular maps. However, this has been delayed due to the aforementioned growing pains. With the current and upcoming changes and updates, the goal is to move forward with this plan.
The recent tileset release was an experiment on this front, and you can expect to see more similar releases.
As this is a new frontier for us, we are eager to hear your suggestions, ideas, and wishes. Let us know in the comments how you would customize your maps or what kind of assets would be most helpful to you.
Thank you!
- Miska
