Hello everyone!
First of all, Happy New Year 2023!
Time for another shareholder report and a whole new year ahead of us. There isn't much to summarize of 2022, but I can say that things have taken off great, with over 130 patrons in a little more than two months.
This has enabled me to hire Pauliina as a part-time artist to help with Miska's Maps projects, ensuring the sustainability of Miska's Cyberpunk Maps. Pauliina has been helping me since last spring.
Initially, I thought I could maintain around 2-3 map packs per month. Now, I'm going to increase the monthly release goal to 3-4 new maps per month, and I'm probably adding Foundry VTT support later this month to the tier rewards.
In December, we released three new packs:
Other releases and additions:
So far, for January, we are planning to do the following maps:
The third and possibly fourth map of the month is still open, and you can affect these by voting for your favorites.
Other releases will include a pack of cyberpunk-themed assets and likely a Foundry module including the latest maps as dynamically lit scenes and a pack of 3D-printable vehicles (2 ground and 2 hover).
Whoa! Quite a start for this new patreon and a whole new year ahead.
There will be more maps, obviously, and assets. The main focus will remain in near-future urban cyberpunk, but we will touch other bases too. There will be also content compatible with hard sci-fi games (thrust gravity spaceships, spin-gravity stations, asteroid bases, off-world outposts, etc.) and some locations featuring post-apocalyptic wastelands or battlefields.
I'm also looking into possible collaborations with other creators or publishers to provide additional content besides the maps and assets. More news about this when I have something more concrete to report.
It's time to vote for a new mission. Each mission introduces an environment, theme, or location, and we will usually make a set of 3-4 maps for it.
Whatever the chosen mission will be, we will probably throw in a space-themed map as the 3rd or 4th map of this month and continue with the mission maps next month.
The available missions are:
Cybergang Turf
The lair and turf of a gang with mostly heavily modified cyborgs. The gang HQ is located in an abandoned industrial warehouse, and the gang members hang out in a seedy bar nearby.
Orbital Elevator Escort
The mission is simple, escort a corporate agent into low-Earth orbit with a space elevator. The trip takes almost five days, and an assassin might have infiltrated the elevator passengers or crew. Maps introduce the multi-level elevator and a maintenance bay located along the way.
Nomad Negotiations
Time to visit the badlands and negotiate a smuggling deal with a local nomad clan called Asphalt Warriors. You will be provided with a map of the nomad lair, a rigger workshop (your local contact), and an abandoned gas station marked as a rendezvous point.
Mining Data
You need to travel to a compromised experimental underground mining facility and extract sensitive data from its mainframe and secure or destroy any physical evidence of the incident. This must be done before official investigators or rival teams arrive to scavenge the scene. You will be provided with a map of the facility. Possible off-world location and biological threat.
Vote for your favorite by the 14th of January.
Thank you for the support!
