CHUYA Factory Original Character Creation Contest

We're excited to offer a unique opportunity for our community to showcase their creativity by designing original characters. This contest is a celebration of imagination, originality, and storytelling, with a focus on character creation.
Contest Phases and Structure:
The contest is divided into three phases, designed to engage our community and identify the most original and captivating characters.
Phase 1: Submission on Discord (April 1 - April 10, 2024)
- Entry Requirements: Entrants must submit a detailed character description, including backstory, physical attributes, and unique traits, via a public Google Docs link. Accompany this description with up to three images of the character, which can be either digital or traditional drawings.
- Artwork Submission: Entrants are not required to draw the character themselves. They may have another person draw it for them, but generative AI tools are not allowed. The artwork must be created by a human being.
- Submission Platform: All entries should be submitted through our Discord channel.
Phase 2: Community Voting on Discord (April 11 - April 20th, 2024)
- Voting Process: Patrons will vote for their favorite entries by giving RED heart reacts on Discord. Voters can support any entry they choose.
- Eligibility to Vote: Contestants must be patrons in both March and April 2024 to participate and vote.
Phase 3: Finals on Patreon (April 21 - April 30, 2024)
- Top Finalists: The 10 entries with the most RED heart reactions will move to the final phase of voting on Patreon.
- Judging Criteria: Final judging will be 40% based on patrons' votes on Patreon and 60% on the CHUYA Factory team's evaluation.
Eligibility:
- Patron Requirement: Contestants must be patrons of CHUYA Factory in both March and April 2024.
- Team Exclusion: Team members of CHUYA Factory and Clay Cyanide Miniatures are not allowed to enter the contest.
Ownership and Rights:
- The original character design remains the intellectual property of the designer.
- The 3D model created from the winning design will be co-owned by the designer and CHUYA Factory. Both parties have the right to sell and resell the model, but for Chuya Factory, it will only be exclusively released to our patrons on Patreon.
- For Chuya Factory Merchants, we will allow you to print the model and sell it but since it’s a 50/50 ownership, you also need permission from the original creator of the winning character.
Prizes:
- The winning character will be transformed into a 3D model by CHUYA Factory and made available exclusively to our Patreon supporters.
- Any other prizes for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd placers will be announced on both Patreon and Discord in the coming weeks/days.
Terms & Conditions:
- By participating, entrants agree to the rules and conditions outlined.
- CHUYA Factory reserves the right to modify contest rules, criteria, and prizes.
- Submissions must be original and not infringe on any third-party intellectual property rights.
- Use of Generative AI is not allowed and it must be made by a human being.
