Author's Note: Just a silly little free-write based on a certain video game franchise I'm playing through with Daddy. You'll never guess which one!
"What are those things?"
"Look out! They're dangerous!"
Tora jumped back as his boyfriend Tiku drew his weapon, facing off against the shadowy villains that invaded their island homes.
"I've got this!" That overconfident dunderhead Tiku began slashing away at the shadow people with wreckless abandon, but they just kept coming. Tora tried to help, but try as he might, the darkness was closing in. So much for escaping to new lands. It looked as if they might die this very night on their island prison of a home.
"I can't save you," yelled Tora as he watched shadows consume his boyfriend. Tora was sinking into the sand, well, a black hole in the sand. There were too many shadow people in between him and Tora, and what's more, Tiku didn't seem to be resisting.
"Give into the darkness," were Tiku's last words before he was completely veiled in shadow. Tora was heartbroken. But just as things seemed their darkest, something drew him away toward the secret door that he had found earlier. Yes, that was the way off of the island!
"I'll avenge you!" cried Tora, before slipping through the door to escape the island of darkness. But what he saw on the other side was a great surprise.
"What is this place?" He had never seen a castle city before. He'd never even been off of his own little island, as far as he could remember. So of course Tora was completely unprepared when he landed. In fact, he was so shocked, he peed himself.
"Oh no! I don't think that's seawater," he groaned, as he looked down at his shorts. He sighed. Alone in an unfamiliar place and now wet to boot. What was he to do? Then he looked down at his hand and remembered...
"The keyblade!" somehow, in his encounter on the island, he had acquired this strange weapon - it was like a sword... but also like a key... Who the heck made such a thing? He quickly spotted the place he might find the answer - a blacksmith shop.
He walked over the cobblestone square, ignoring the looks of passersby that might notice his wet shorts (the bright color did little to hide what he had done in them). He pushed open the heavy wooden door of the blacksmith shop, and stumbled inside.
"Well, look what the cat dragged in!" said a bearish man in a smock. He had a big pointy beard that spiked out at each corner and an even bigger smile as he welcomed the young man in, but his expression quickly changed when he saw the state of him. "Oh, heavens! Look at you! You'd better get near the fire, lad. You'll catch your death!"
Tora was too grateful to explain himself, and immediately took the man up on the offer. The man waited until Tora was situated before he started asking questions.
"What the heck happened to ye? You look like you just came off of a shipwreck or.."
"You could say that! I was at home not an hour ago. I live in some islands... but then shadow people attacked! My boyfriend defended me, but he was swallowed up by the darkness... then I got this key blade, and... well... I ended up here..."
"Key blade? Asked the man, his eyes glinting. Let me see..."
Tora handed it off to the man. "Do you have any idea what it is?"
"Aye. I know what this is... and it means we're all in serious trouble..."
"I was afraid of that," said Tora, grimacing as the man handed him back his key.
"Hold on," said the man, wandering back to a back room. Tora could hear him rummaging around and wondered what he could possibly be doing, but then he returned with a white square in his hand. "They say to defeat the darkness, you need light... and there's nothing quite as bright and light as a bright white diaper!"
"A diaper? You're kidding!" said Tora, standing up now and holding up his hands. "This has got to be a joke, right?"
"You've got to wear a diaper to protect yourself from the shadow people. Trust me on this."
Tora had a hard time believing the man, but with the offer of food and a bath, he was finding it hard to refuse to at least try his outlandish idea.
"Alright, alright. I'll... try it... after I have a nice bath, that is. Thank you for your kindness. What's your name, good sir?"
"You can just call me Skid," said the man, sticking out his hand. Tora reluctantly shook it. And true to his word, after a very needed bath, he got out and allowed Skid to pin the thick white cotton square around his crotch and waist.
His breath caught in his throat as the man pulled the thick cloth between his legs and began to pin it on. It was not a quick process, so he had to lay there while the bigger man put in the effort to pin it on, allowing the unfamiliar and embarrassing feelings of being dressed to sink in. At his age, it was certainly unusual.
"There. Not so bad, is it?" asked the man, stepping back and dusting off his hands.
Tora stood up and looked down doubtfully at the huge white bulk now surroundinh his lower regions. "How am I gonna fit my pants on over this monstrosity?"
"Oh, you don't! You need that bright white diaper to be showing so it can defend against the dark shadow people! Trust me. I'm a blacksmith.
"No way!" said Tora. "There's no way I'd be caught dead wearing this out there!"
Skid was about to counter when two heroes busted in through the door. It was Ronald Duck and Doofy.
"Hyuk! Skid! We gotta get us some accessories," said Doofy. "The shadow people must be stopped!"
"I've got something better," said Skid, clapping Tora on the shoulder. "A warrior of light!"
"Wow, hyuk! He's got a diaper on and everything! And he's recommended by a blacksmith! He's surely the one!"
Ronald's eyes lit up, and he quacked, "This is perfect! You're our only hope! Welcome to the team!"
Tora gulped. Perhaps backing out of this diaper deal wouldn't be as easy as it seemed....
