Next week we’ll continue with the second (and final) part of Genie's Gift.
If you look closely, you can probably already guess from the cover that we’re switching things up a bit in this part, moving from breast to belly expansion. I wonder what kind of reason the Genie came up with for this... (^_^)
If all goes well, we’ll find out in the middle of next week when I hopefully finish the comic.
In the meantime, a quick word about my previous comic, Busty Beach Babes:
The biggest highlight of this comic is probably the higher (nearly double!) resolution compared to my previous ones (I even broke protocol and mentioned it in the release post because I thought it was such a fundamental change that it just had to be mentioned). I’m not sure how many of you noticed while reading, as most of you view my comics on your phones, and the difference isn’t as obvious on a small display as it is on a tablet or PC. But I definitely felt the difference while creating it, haha.
It was significantly more work… kind of. With the higher resolution, you can see more details, which means some tricks I used to rely on to cover some things up no longer work, and I had to fix more small-ish inconsistencies in the images I wouldn't have had to fix before (because now they’re just way more visible). However, the most time-consuming part by far was generating the high-resolution images. A significant portion of the extra effort involved sitting idly in front of my PC for five minutes at a time, waiting for each image to upscale to the new resolution.
It was… well, boring, haha. But ultimately, I think it was worth it. Even on a phone, you should be able to notice some of the added details, and I also feel that the images (especially the faces) generally look better at higher resolution. But let me know if you noticed any differences and, if so, whether you liked them or felt indifferent (hopefully you didn’t like them less 🥺).
What’s also unique about this comic (and will probably stay unique – more on that in a moment, haha) is the egg vibrator that Sophia uses on pages 11 - 16. I've seen this kind of thing in some (non-AI generated) manga lately and wanted to incorporate it into one of my own comics. But I didn’t expect it to take me SOOOO DAMN LONG to get it right cry.
Apparently, egg vibrators are almost nonexistent in the AI's training data — Stable Diffusion doesn’t seem to understand the concept at all.
I ended up in a bit of a bind: the script was basically finished, and rewriting everything would’ve been a massive effort since the vibrator features prominently on six pages. So I had to find a solution, which, after a lot of back-and-forth, I eventually did. I generated the images without the egg vibrator and then manually drew it in afterward. I used various techniques (inpainting, upscaling, etc.) to blend it with the rest of the image as seamlessly as possible.
And the result… honestly, not bad, if I do say so myself, haha. Considering I initially got nowhere with this concept, I’m really happy with how it turned out. The vibrator doesn’t stand out (as it shouldn’t), and I think you’d never guess it wasn’t originally there. But yeah, it was a ton of unexpected work. That’s also why it took me longer to finish this comic than usual.
I should be able to finish Genie's Gift a bit faster. As mentioned, I’m aiming for around the middle of next week.
So, talk soo—
Wait, stop, stop, stop! Just as I was about to post this I realized I never revealed what was special about this comic (as teased in the last announcement)! I don’t know if no one noticed or if no one dared to mention it, but this comic was a remake/reimagining of the very first comic I ever created: Breast Day at the Beach.
It gave me a bit of pride to compare the two comics and see how far I’ve come since I started. I hope I can keep improving, and in another eight months, maybe this comic will feel completely outdated too ^^
Alright, that’s really it this time. Talk to you next week!
Until then, take care!
