If there ever was a competition on missing deadlines, I'd be disqualified, cause I wouldn't meet the registration deadline. Yeah, so it looks like I'll be uploading the update tomorrow. I have no idea what went wrong, but when I launched the game the image system was broken and was giving me errors how it couldn't find substitution or something. I literally changed nothing since the last time I checked it, when it worked, the only thing I changed was the art assets for the characters. I though maybe it was because instead of just dumping everything into images folder, I now had an organized folder for characters and a folder for each character too, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Anyway, I am working on fixing this issue, but it's pretty late where I am, so i am not sure if I'm gonna make it today, but I don't have any work tomorrow, so I can spend all dying bashing my head against this code only to realize it was a single typo that was messing everything up ...
On a positive note, the image system ... WHEN IT WORKS that is ... Is a real blessing, I am very happy I decided to step back and do this upgrade, there's probably a much more savvy way to do it ( DUH ), but I feel good about what I have and I can really feel the impact it has on my work process, it's convinient, doesn't require as much work and is much cleaner then just having 1000 variations of one character for every new hair on their head or something, it will really save me a lot of time in the future.
