Finally checking one of my old animation WIPs off the list!
You probably remember some concepts of this project being highlighted few months ago along with other WIPs, the end of 2024 had my mind all over the place with many things being started and many of them not being finished but sooner or later I just had to finish them and I decided to start with this one.

Back then I posted only a single 2 frame gif of the last inflation stage. It was a simple concept similar to my other inflation animation ideas such as "Pop Your Friend Contest" Amstrad CPC animation or this big nude beach CGA animation project that is another WIP I need to finish, in each one there's a character(s) who gradually get pumped from small to massive and round, this one however didn't start as an animation idea, I just took my Apple II OC sprites and decided to figure out how massive I can make my character look by stretching the body across entire screen to the max. The result was nice, that's what you saw in that old highlight post but OF COURSE I couldn't resist the urge to do the same thing again and draw extra 8 steps to show a gradual growth from smallest to biggest and OF COURSE I had to do fart version just like in "Pop Your Friend Contest" project, so this simple idea got turned into something bigger.

The sounds for video versions, as usual, are original Apple II sounds I ripped from Apple II games which are pretty rough due to Apple II poor 1-bit sound chip so it's maybe not the best sound to listen to for 2 minutes, especially considering how repetitive it is and especially if it's something you're trying to jerk off to, so I'd recommend to tune the volume down at least a bit. It's all just for the sake of authenticity.

And as I mentioned, there's two versions, the standard one with characters using hand pumps and the dirtier one where they inflate Zed with their farts. The fart one is more elaborate and longer with more complex rhythm and bigger variety of sounds because pumping is a simpler process compared to farting, it's more monotonous and has much less actual sounds so I spent less time on it. I surely could put more effort but I decided to keep it simple to match Apple II aesthetics and just because I need to move on with other projects.

Also a little interesting fact:

The BOOM screen in the end was inspired by an Apple II game "The Great Gonzo In Word Rider", it's a simple educational game featuring Gonzo from Muppets as the main character with some seemingly not so simple action elements. In this game, whenever you bump into anything you get shown a big full-screen image of a SPLAT comic effect with sound which is quite fancy for Apple II since it was quite humble in terms of dynamic visual effects.

I thought "If that existed, why not make something similar for this animation?" and of course my BOOM screen is a bit more elaborate but I think it still catches the feel pretty well. As for the sound, I searched high and low to find a more appropriate sound for this to represent an explosive burst among Apple II games but found nothing so I said screw it and just used the same sound from SPLAT screen in Gonzo game. Call it a hidden reference or whatever, Apple II had a very small selection of sounds to chose so it doesn't really matter if I made it too similar to this game's visuals and sound.

I hope you enjoyed the project! This time I'm not gonna share fart animations publicly unlike Mark ones that I posted recently, in Mark's case these were the only animations tied to initial concept but here I can just use hand pump video for public release.
There's still more WIPs to deal with but I'll get back to them later, I had a bit too much pixel art work lately and have more urgent stuff to think about.
