Absolutely Normal January Tradition

I'm sorry guys but I have to post this artwork openly because there's no way to make it look clean and hide the rest in attachments like I usually do as this artwork was made solely for a special occasion that is January 7th, you know what that day is, my beloved and so much anticipated National Pass Gas Day which is also the same day Russian Christmas is celebrated (although we don't celebrate it really much).

It's the third year when I make special artworks for this day and allow myself to be a bit more public with this kink of mine at least for once, two years ago it was farting Bambo art that I did to reveal my fart kink to the world for the first time at that exact day, one year ago it was a postcard styled art with Volk and this year it had to be something special as well.

Considering all my recent cravings revolving around my OCs it's not a big surprise that this year's art was going to involve them too. I made my decision on what exactly it's gonna be long time ago but sadly I didn't have time to start at least sketching it beforehand so it all was done in the very last moment today.

I used my beloved digital shading technique again here and I'm feeling insanely proud of how it turned out, I definitely outdid myself with this one, the shading, lighting, shapes, poses and emotions look great and after messing around with filters I finally found a nice and simple solution how to make colors look MUCH better, I was always trying to achieve some more aesthetic and vintage look with my previous works made in this technique but vintage color effect felt pretty subtle on them, not as striking as I'd like. Here it really looks like some vintage airbrush artwork for real, at least I'm getting way closer to that feel.

Not that unfiltered version doesn't look good by itself, it's still cute and sweet, there's just some minor things like Mark's plain gray shading that I find kinda boring and begging for some more intricate look.

I even feel sorry that this artwork is fart focused, for many people it will be hard to appreciate its beauty this way due to all the unpleasant aspects haha but who cares, I love myself and my art mainly for the fact I'm able to give an effortful artistic attention to weird shit people usually feel awkward to give their best to and draw a Louvre level fart art or something like that. I can always do more acceptable art of the same quality in future anyway.

The only thing I don't really like here is how one Mark's leg looks much smaller than the other. In theory it was supposed to be one leg being more like it's facing the camera and zooming in a perspective but I guess I didn't made it zoom enough so it looks just small. I'm still a bit bad with perspective and still don't feel comfortable with using dynamic perspective effect so my shyness ends up giving imperfect results. But whatever, it still looks good.

It's also nice to show another slice of life with my characters and how they communicate, like the idea of Jack being a more intelligent person who always gets by surprise running into his friends' way more unorthodox sexual preferences. And also just the fact that they celebrate this day like this.

Doing some interior work here is nice too, so far all my previous OC works involved very abstract geometric backgrounds or at the very least just very random locations and even if there were interiors they also were random, made without having this thought in mind that I'm drawing what is supposed to be my character's established canonical home. It still was a pretty random idea but now I think I'll probably keep this chair and carpet designs for future works.

To be honest, I had big ambitions for this artwork, I wanted to give it some simple animation. Yeah, first animation that is not a pixel one, I finally got courage to think about it but I didn't know just drawing this basic artwork will take me entire day, I was working all day starting from the very morning and now it's 7am already and after this sleepless night all I want now is just go to sleep so I apologize. I still can try to fulfill my idea of animating this but it will be done much later now. There's other things that should be done right now.

And yes, speaking of things to do, it's January 7 already and it's only the first post of the month so far, sorry for this too, the month started very busy, I spent one whole day making Japanese text versions of my PC-88 art for the public release, still haven't finished writing a gargantuan post with the summary of entire year 2024 and I was actually drawing a different artwork recently, it's almost done and needs just one last push to be finished. I could actually finish and post it here today but I just had to interrupt the process for this urgent January 7 art. Not sure if I can finish it tomorrow after such a sleepless night, I'll definitely need some recovering after this but I promise it's gonna be done soon and I BET you're gonna love it! If anybody here got a bit tired of me indulging on my silly and wacky characters for such a long time then I have good news for you, new art I'm cooking up involves a character that is a polar opposite of wacky, my mind made a drastic 180 turn towards anthro stuff and this is coming out pretty hot. I hope you're intrigued.

And since it's the first post of the year 2025, happy New Year to you all! A bit too late but whatever, I hope it started good for you, thank you for your support and thank you for being patient with me. I still have to say more about what we achieved together in the past year so wait for this too.
