Hey everyone!
Patreon says none of this affect current members, so I hope you guys will be okay.
BUT
According to the Patreon newsletter and their reddit page: changes coming around billing which may affect new members so please read these:
'To keep Patreon in the Apple App Store, Apple is requiring Patreon to use their in-app purchase system for new memberships in the Patreon iOS app, beginning in November 2024. The iOS in-app purchase system only supports Patreon’s subscription billing model. Apple has made clear that if creators on Patreon continue to use unsupported billing models or disable transactions in the iOS app, we will be at risk of having the entire app removed from their App Store. This means that creators on billing models other than subscription billing will not be able to sell their new memberships in the iOS app once in-app purchasing rolls out. As a result of Apple’s requirements, Patreon will begin a 16-month-long migration process to bring all creators onto subscription billing by November 2025. If you’re on 1st-of-the-month or per-creation billing this change applies to you.' - https://support.patreon.com/hc/en-us/articles/209777053-How-to-bill-members-customers
TL:DR from November 1, 2024 I have to let the automatic migration from the 'first of the month billing' to 'Subscription billing' system so IOS app users will be able to subscribe to my page. Also IOS app users buying a subscription will be charged an extra 30% because how Patreon set this up. Sorry, but I will not support the Apple by taking the hit so if you'd create a subscription I suggest doing it on any other platform than the IOS app. AFAIK everyone who is subscribed to a creator (using any platform) will still be able to access the content, and this price change only affects subscriptions created on IOS.
In other news: stay tuned! Working on an other Tier!!
Also on catching up with everything. I treasure your patience.
Thank you guys!
See you soon!
