Corner Office pt. 3

"Well then," Diana beamed, rising from her chair. "I believe congratulations are in order!"

Victoria and the other transformed board member, Elizabeth, moved to embrace Lily with the easy confidence of women who had already adapted to their new size. The hugs were natural, powerful – a welcome to their exclusive club.

Then Patricia stepped forward, her 5'5" frame barely reaching Lily's midriff. There was an awkward moment as both women tried to figure out the logistics of a congratulatory hug. Patricia ended up with her head pressed against Lily's rock-hard abs, her arms not even reaching halfway around Lily's waist.

"Oh! Um, sorry about that," Patricia laughed nervously, stepping back and smoothing her blazer. "Still getting used to all these new heights. Though I suppose I should be grateful I can still shop at regular stores."

James Porter was last, and if Patricia's hug had been awkward, his was downright comical. The man who had once seemed so imposing in board meetings now had to stretch up on his tiptoes to attempt anything resembling a professional embrace. His head barely reached her sternum, and he ended up in a similar position to Patricia, face squashed against her midsection.

"Right, well," he coughed, quickly retreating and adjusting his tie. "About informing Crawford of these changes..."

Lily's elation dimmed slightly. "Oh. Yes, I suppose he'll need to be told."

"Actually," James continued, not quite meeting her eyes, "we were hoping you could handle that particular conversation. The board has quite a full schedule today – lots of similar promotions to process, you understand. The company's going through quite the reorganization."

"You want me to tell him?" Lily's voice rose slightly in pitch, momentarily forgetting her new stature as old anxieties surfaced.

"Who better?" Diana interjected smoothly. "You know him best, and it will help establish the new dynamic immediately. Besides," she added with a knowing smile, "it's time he learned to look up to you – in every sense of the word."

Victoria nodded in agreement. "Consider it your first task in your new role. Show him the same professional courtesy he's shown you all these years."

"Which is to say, whatever level you deem appropriate," Elizabeth added with a slight smirk.

Lily looked around at the board members – the transformed women standing tall and proud, Patricia and James having to crane their necks to meet her eyes. It was a stark visual representation of how much had changed in just two weeks.

"I... I suppose you're right," she said, straightening to her full height and feeling her head brush against the ceiling. "When should I tell him?"

"No time like the present," James replied, already gathering his papers. "We have meetings scheduled with the heads of Marketing, Legal, and IT. All being reorganized to reflect our company's... growing assets."

"Don't worry," Diana assured her, placing a strong hand on Lily's shoulder. "You've handled everything he's thrown at you for years. Now you just have a better vantage point to do it."

As the board members filed out, Patricia paused at the door. "Oh, and Lily? Your new office – Crawford's current one – will be renovated over the weekend to accommodate your size. Until then, feel free to use the conference room. The ceilings are higher."

Lily nodded, suddenly very aware of how the standard office architecture seemed to have shrunk around her 8'2" frame. She took a deep breath, feeling the power in her new body, the strength in her muscles, the confidence trying to break through years of conditioning.

"Time to stand tall," she whispered to herself, ducking through the doorway and heading back to face Crawford. She had spent years looking up to him, minimizing herself to accommodate his ego. Now he would quite literally have to look up to her – all the way up.

The thought brought an unexpected smile to her face as she strode through the office, her long legs eating up the distance in a few steps. People scrambled to move out of her way, their expressions a mixture of awe and curiosity. She could hear whispers following in her wake, could feel the subtle shift in the air as she passed.

Crawford's office – soon to be her office – waited ahead. Through the glass walls, she could see him at his desk, still fuming about their earlier collision, probably plotting how to write her up for it.

Well, she thought, at least this should be interesting.

Crawford was out of his chair the moment Lily entered his office, his face already an alarming shade of red. "Where the hell have you been? Do you have any idea what I've had to do myself because you were too busy being a giant to do your job?"

Lily opened her mouth to explain, but he cut her off, waving a stack of papers. "I had to proofread the Miller contract myself! Me! Because my secretary was too busy playing Amazon warrior princess or whatever it is you think you're doing!"

She tried to remember her planned speech about maintaining a respectful working relationship, about easing into the transition. But Crawford wasn't finished.

"Look at you! You can barely fit in the office! How do you expect to function as a secretary when you're destroying everything you touch? First you assault me in the hallway, now you're vanishing for hours? This is completely unprofessional! I should have fired you weeks ago, before this virus turned you into a—"

"I'm not your secretary anymore," Lily interrupted, her quiet voice somehow filling the room more effectively than his shouting.

Crawford blinked, momentarily thrown off his rant. "What?"

"I said, I'm not your secretary anymore." Lily straightened to her full height, making Crawford take an involuntary step back. "The board has promoted me to Department Director. Effective immediately."

Crawford stared at her for a moment before letting out a harsh laugh. "Very funny. Now, about these contracts—"

"You'll be reporting to me," Lily continued, her voice growing stronger. "Your new position will be as my assistant. The board feels it's a more... appropriate role for you."

The color drained from Crawford's face. "This is ridiculous. You can't be serious."

"The paperwork has already been signed. Your new desk will be out there." She gestured to her old workspace, now looking comically small from her new perspective.

"Like hell it will!" Crawford stormed past her, having to squeeze around her massive frame to get through the doorway. "We'll see what the board has to say about this!"

Lily followed him easily, her long strides matching his angry stomping without effort. The office watched in stunned silence as Crawford charged toward the board room, Lily's 8'2" frame looming behind him like a shadow.

He burst through the doors without knocking, only to stop short at the sight before him. The board was in session with Janet from Marketing, who stood at an impressive 7'5". She was shaking hands with Diana, clearly in the middle of receiving her own promotion.

"Mr. Crawford," Diana said coolly, not bothering to hide her annoyance at the interruption. "I see Miss Chen has informed you of the changes."

"This is outrageous!" Crawford spluttered. "You can't just—you can't—she's a secretary!"

"Was a secretary," Victoria corrected. "Just as Janet here was just a marketing assistant. Times are changing, Richard. The company needs to reflect that."

"Because they're bigger?" Crawford's voice rose to a near-squeak. "That's discrimination! I'll sue!"

"Because they're more capable," James stated firmly. "The virus may have changed their size, but it's their competence that earned these promotions. Miss Chen has been effectively running your department for years."

"While you took credit for her work," Elizabeth added pointedly.

Crawford spun around to face Lily, who filled the doorway with her new frame. She watched as the reality of the situation finally seemed to sink in. He had to crane his neck almost completely back to meet her eyes, his former intimidating presence reduced to looking up at someone who now literally and figuratively towered over him.

"You..." he started, then seemed to deflate. "This is insane."

"Your new employment contract is on your desk – your new desk," Diana informed him. "Miss Chen will brief you on your duties once she's settled into her office. That will be all."

The dismissal was clear. Crawford looked around the room, from one towering woman to another, finally landing on James who simply shrugged as if to say 'what can you do?' With a final frustrated growl, he stormed out, having to duck under Lily's arm where she still stood in the doorway.

"Well," Janet said into the silence that followed, "that was dramatic."

"Indeed," Diana agreed, then smiled at Lily. "Excellent work, by the way. How does it feel to stand tall?"

Lily found herself returning the smile, feeling truly confident for the first time in her life. "It feels... right."
