The one with all the growth

"Oh. My. God." Monica's eyes widened as she flipped through the glossy pages of 'Fitness Today' magazine, nearly spilling her coffee at Central Perk.

"What is it?" Rachel looked up from her phone, while Phoebe continued strumming her guitar softly in the corner of the orange couch.

"They're holding the first-ever 'Ultimate Women's Transformation Challenge' right here in the Village!" Monica practically squealed, pressing the magazine against her chest. "The grand prize is fifty thousand dollars!"

"Sweetie, the last time you got this excited about a competition, you ended up making three hundred cupcakes at 3 AM," Rachel reminded her, taking a sip of her latte.

"No, no, this is different," Monica insisted, turning the magazine around to show them. "Look, they're providing all participants with a revolutionary supplement program. It's supposed to completely transform your body in just five days!"

Phoebe stopped playing and peered at the advertisement. "Ooh, the bottles are pretty! They're all sparkly and purple."

"I'm signing up," Monica declared, already reaching for her phone. "The registration deadline is today, and they're only taking thirty participants."

Rachel rolled her eyes. "Here we go again. Another thing you'll get obsessed with for exactly three days before moving on to the next crazy competition."

"Excuse me?" Monica's head snapped up. "When have I ever not finished something I started?"

"Oh, honey," Rachel laughed, setting down her coffee. "Remember the pottery class? The salsa dancing? Oh, and let's not forget the 'professional food photography' phase."

"Those were different! And at least I try new things," Monica shot back. "When was the last time you finished anything you started? You couldn't even finish reading 'The Shining'!"

"That's because the book was scary!" Rachel protested. "And I finish plenty of things, thank you very much."

"Name one."

Rachel opened her mouth, then closed it again. "You know what? Give me that magazine. I'm signing up too."

"Really?" Monica's eyebrows shot up. "You're going to compete in a fitness challenge?"

"Why not? I work out... sometimes. And I could use fifty thousand dollars." Rachel grabbed the magazine, studying the entry form. "Plus, how hard can it be? We just take some supplements and work out a bit."

"The universe thinks you should both do it," Phoebe announced suddenly, setting her guitar aside.

Monica and Rachel turned to look at her.

"The universe told you that?" Monica asked skeptically.

"Yep! Just now. A little bird landed on the window..." Phoebe pointed to the cafe's window where, indeed, a pigeon was perched, "...and it spelled out 'DO IT' with its poop."

Rachel squinted at the window. "Pheebs, that's just random bird poop."

"Is it, Rachel? Is it really?" Phoebe stood up dramatically. "Because I'm signing up too. When the universe sends you a poop message, you listen!"

Just then, Ross, Chandler, and Joey walked into Central Perk.

"Hey, what's with all the excitement?" Chandler asked, noting the magazine being passed around.

"The girls are entering some kind of fitness competition," Ross explained, having caught the tail end of the conversation.

Joey's face lit up. "Fitness competition? Like with those really buff women in tiny outfits?"

"It's a transformation challenge," Monica corrected him. "We get special supplements and training programs, and in five days, they judge who's had the most impressive change."

"Five days?" Ross frowned, taking the magazine. "That doesn't sound scientifically possible. What's in these supplements?"

"Who cares?" Rachel was already filling out the online registration form on her phone. "Done! I'm in!"

"Me too!" Monica followed suit.

"Yay, me three!" Phoebe clapped her hands. "The universe is so excited right now!"

"You do realize this means you'll be competing against each other, right?" Chandler pointed out.

Monica and Rachel exchanged competitive glances.

"May the best woman win," Monica said with a sweet smile that didn't quite reach her eyes.

"Oh, she will," Rachel replied with equal sweetness.

"I'm just happy to be included!" Phoebe beamed.

Later that afternoon, the three women gathered in Monica and Rachel's apartment, where three identical purple boxes had been delivered.

"Ooh, they're so pretty!" Phoebe cooed, opening her box to reveal rows of sparkly purple bottles.

Monica read the instruction pamphlet: "'Take one supplement three times daily with meals. Results will begin within 24 hours.' Seems simple enough."

"Look, they even included special measuring tape and a journal to track our progress," Rachel noted, pulling out a metallic tape measure.

"Alright, ladies," Monica held up her first bottle. "To transformation!"

They clinked their bottles together and each took their first dose.

"Mm, tastes like grape candy," Phoebe observed.

"More like purple drink," Rachel added.

"Whatever it is, we're officially in this now," Monica said, already writing in her progress journal. "Game on!"

As they continued examining their boxes, Joey burst through the door.

"Hey, is it true you're all gonna get super buff?" he asked eagerly. "Because I support this. I support this very much."

"It's a transformation challenge, Joey," Monica explained. "We don't know exactly what will happen."

"But the pamphlet does mention 'dramatic physical changes,'" Rachel added, still reading through the materials.

"Oh! Oh!" Phoebe suddenly jumped up. "My fingertips are tingling! Is that supposed to happen?"

"Mine too!" Monica and Rachel said in unison, looking at their hands.

"That was fast," Chandler commented from the doorway. "Should we be concerned that these mystery supplements are already affecting you?"

"The pamphlet says mild tingling is normal," Monica reassured him, though she kept flexing her fingers.

"Well, I for one can't wait to see these 'dramatic physical changes,'" Joey grinned, making himself comfortable on the couch.

"Anyone else feeling really warm?" Rachel asked, fanning herself with the pamphlet.

"Like a sauna," Phoebe agreed. "A really nice sauna. With those hot rocks and everything."

"Maybe we should take some initial measurements," Monica suggested, already grabbing her measuring tape. "You know, for comparison later."

"You would want to document everything," Rachel teased, but stood up for measuring anyway.

"Hey, when I win this thing, I want exact numbers to prove by how much I beat you," Monica shot back with a competitive gleam in her eye.

As Monica started measuring and recording their starting heights and measurements, none of them noticed that their clothes were already feeling just a tiny bit snugger than they had been just minutes before.

The competition had begun.

The next morning at the competition facility, a converted warehouse in the Village, Monica was already waiting impatiently by the entrance when Rachel arrived.

"You're late!" Monica called out.

"By like two minutes!" Rachel protested, then paused, looking at Monica more carefully. "Wait a minute... weren't you wearing a different outfit this morning?"

Monica tugged self-consciously at her workout clothes. "My other ones got a bit... snug. But never mind that, look at you! Your yoga pants are practically capris now!"

Rachel looked down at her ankles, now clearly visible below her supposedly full-length pants. "Oh my god, you're right! I thought the dryer had shrunk them!"

"Ladies!" Phoebe's voice called from down the street. She was practically skipping towards them, her flowing dress swishing around her now-exposed calves.

"Okay, this is weird," Rachel said, looking between them. "Are we all... taller?"

"Duh!" Phoebe replied cheerfully. "That's what happens when you drink magical purple supplements. My psychic warned me about this last week, but I thought she was just being dramatic."

Inside the facility, dozens of women were gathered, all showing similar signs of growth. The competition organizer, a tall woman in sleek athletic wear, called them to attention.

"Welcome to day one of your transformation! Today's focus is basic training and getting used to your changing bodies. Please pair up and begin with the exercises shown on the screens."

Monica immediately grabbed Rachel's arm. "Partners?"

"You're on," Rachel grinned. "Ready to see who grows more?"

"Oh, it is so on!"

Two hours later, they regrouped at Monica's apartment. Joey and Chandler were already there, having been texted updates throughout the morning.

"Holy..." Joey's jaw dropped as the girls walked in. "You guys are like... bigger! Everything's bigger!"

"Really? We hadn't noticed," Rachel rolled her eyes, but couldn't help smirking as she realized she now had to look down slightly to meet Joey's gaze.

Chandler was perched on the arm of the couch, trying to appear casual. "So, honey, exactly how much... taller are you now?"

"Let's find out!" Monica grabbed her measuring tape excitedly. "Ross! Get in here with your notebook! Time for science!"

Ross hurried in from across the hall, already wearing reading glasses and carrying a leather-bound journal. "Excellent! I've been developing a methodology for tracking these changes. We'll need to measure height, shoulder width, bicep circumference, and-"

"Yeah, yeah," Rachel cut him off. "Just tell us who's taller!"

After careful measurement, Ross adjusted his glasses and announced: "Monica is currently 6'2", Rachel is 6'1", and Phoebe is 6'3"."

"Ha!" Monica pointed at Rachel triumphantly. "I'm winning!"

"By one inch!" Rachel protested. "Besides, look at this!" She flexed her arm, her bicep straining against her sleeve.

Ross fumbled with his tape measure. "Uh, that's... seventeen inches."

"Oh yeah?" Monica flexed her own arm. "Measure this!"

"Seventeen and a half," Ross reported.

"Girls, girls," Phoebe interrupted, casually flexing. "Eighteen."

Joey had been watching this display with increasing enthusiasm. "This is like... the best thing that's ever happened! Hey Mon, bet you can't lift me anymore!"

"Please," Monica scoffed, then easily hoisted Joey off the ground with one arm.

"Oh. My. God." Joey's eyes were wide. "Chandler! Chandler, they can lift us!"

"Yes, I can see that," Chandler replied from his increasingly distant-looking perch on the couch. "And I'm both terrified and strangely attracted to it."

"Ooh, you know what we should do?" Phoebe clapped her hands excitedly. "We should measure ourselves against the door frame! Like parents do with kids, but in reverse!"

"That's actually not a bad idea for tracking progression," Ross mused, already making notes. "We can mark your heights at regular intervals and calculate the growth rate..."

"Nobody cares about the math, Ross!" Rachel called out as she stood against the door frame. "Just mark it!"

As they took turns marking their heights, their clothes started feeling even tighter. Rachel's shirt rode up, exposing her midriff, while Monica's pants were now definitively cropped.

"I need to go shopping," Rachel announced, tugging at her too-small clothes.

"That might be premature," Ross pointed out. "According to my calculations, based on your current growth rate-"

He was interrupted by the sound of fabric ripping. Everyone turned to look at Phoebe, who had just torn through the shoulders of her dress while stretching.

"Oops!" she giggled. "The universe really wants me to get new clothes!"

"Okay, that's it," Rachel declared. "Emergency shopping trip. Now."

"But we have another training session this afternoon!" Monica protested.

"Monica, honey, look at yourself," Rachel gestured to Monica's straining clothes. "We're not going to have anything to wear at this rate."

"Fine," Monica conceded. "But we measure again when we get back!"

As the girls headed out, Joey turned to Chandler. "Can you believe this? It's like dating superheroes!"

"Yes, because that's exactly what every guy dreams of - a girlfriend who can bench press him," Chandler quipped, but his eyes followed Monica with a mix of anxiety and admiration.

"I know!" Joey exclaimed, missing the sarcasm entirely. "Hey Ross, how tall do you think they'll get?"

Ross consulted his notes. "Well, if the current growth rate continues-"

"Boring!" Joey called out, already heading across the hall. "I'm gonna go practice being lifted!"

Later that afternoon, after a shopping spree for generously sized athletic wear, the girls reconvened at the training facility. The competition organizer greeted them with another round of supplements.

"Remember ladies, three times daily with meals. And don't forget to document your progress!"

Monica eyed Rachel as they took their doses. "Ready to see who grows more by dinner?"

"Oh, you're on!" Rachel grinned. "And this time, I'm not letting you win by half an inch!"

"The universe doesn't care who wins," Phoebe commented serenely, already starting to stretch her new, longer limbs. "But it thinks you both look silly competing."

As they began their afternoon training session, none of them noticed that the tops of their heads were already closer to the overhead lights than they had been that morning. The day was far from over, and there was still plenty of growing to do.

Behind them, through the facility's windows, they could see Ross pacing back and forth on the sidewalk, frantically taking notes and occasionally pressing his face against the glass to observe their training.

"Should we let him in?" Rachel asked, watching Ross fog up the window with his breathing.

"Nah," Monica replied, easily lifting a weight that would have been impossible that morning. "He's having more fun this way."

The next morning at the competition facility, Rachel set down her gym bag and pulled out an extra supplement bottle. "Hey Mon, check this out - if we take one with our pre-workout, that's technically still with a meal, right?"

Monica glanced around before pulling out her own extra bottle. "I was thinking the same thing! I mean, a protein shake counts as a meal."

"You guys are really going all in on this, huh?" Phoebe commented, casually sipping her regular dose with a smoothie.

As they began their training session, the effects of their increased dosage became quickly apparent. Monica's recently purchased workout clothes were already straining at the shoulders, while Rachel had to keep adjusting her leggings that seemed to be getting shorter by the hour.

"Okay, everyone pair up for the partner exercises!" the trainer called out.

Rachel turned to Monica with a competitive gleam in her eye. "Ready to spot me? I can probably lift twice what you can now."

"Oh really?" Monica replied, loading more weights onto her bar. "We'll see about that."

By the time they finished their morning session, both Monica and Rachel had torn through multiple shirt seams, while Phoebe remained comfortably in her clothes, seemingly content with her more modest progress.

Later at Central Perk, the girls occupied their usual spot - though the orange couch was starting to feel notably smaller. Ross and Chandler sat across from them, trying not to look too overwhelmed by their partners' continued growth.

"So, um, exactly how tall are you now?" Chandler asked, attempting to maintain his usual composure despite having to look up significantly at Monica.

"Let's see!" Monica stood eagerly, prompting Ross to pull out his measuring tape.

"Monica's at 6'9"," Ross announced, consulting his notes. "Rachel's 6'11", and Phoebe's 6'5"."

"Ha!" Rachel exclaimed, turning to Monica. "Looks like those extra supplements are working better for me!"

"We'll see who's taller after tonight's session," Monica replied, a determined look in her eyes.

Joey burst into the coffee house, his face lighting up at the sight of them. "There you are! I've been working out just so I can try something!" He immediately went to Rachel, attempting to wrap his arms around her thigh. "See? I can barely get my arms around! That's crazy!"

"Joey, boundaries," Rachel reminded him, though she couldn't help but laugh.

"Oh come on, let him have his fun," Monica said. "Besides, watch this." She easily lifted Joey with one arm, holding him overhead.

"This is the best thing ever!" Joey exclaimed from his elevated position.

Chandler leaned over to Ross, speaking in a low voice. "Should we be concerned about how fast this is happening?"

Ross frowned, reviewing his notes. "The rate of growth is unprecedented. At this pace..." He paused, calculating. "Well, let's just say they might want to reinforce their apartment floors."

"I can hear you guys, you know," Monica said, setting Joey down. "And we're being perfectly safe about this."

"Absolutely," Rachel agreed, taking another supplement with her coffee. "The trainer says this is all totally normal."

"Normal?" Chandler stood up, now having to crane his neck to look at Monica. "Honey, you're almost seven feet tall and can lift Joey like he's a throw pillow!"

"I think what Chandler means," Ross interjected, trying to be diplomatic, "is that we're just worried about the long-term effects."

"Well, I feel great," Monica asserted, though she had to duck slightly to avoid hitting her head on the ceiling fan.

"Me too," Rachel added. "Though I could use some longer pants."

Phoebe, who had been quietly observing, finally spoke up. "You know, maybe they have a point about the extra supplements."

"Says the one falling behind," Monica muttered.

"I heard that!" Phoebe replied. "And I'm not falling behind, I'm just following the actual instructions."

Before the discussion could continue, both Monica and Rachel's phones buzzed with notifications from the competition organizers - another training session was starting soon.

"We should go," Rachel said, carefully maneuvering around the coffee table that now seemed comically small.

"Yeah," Monica agreed, gathering her things. "Coming, Phoebe?"

"I'll catch up," Phoebe replied, finishing her coffee. "Some of us don't need to rush to get bigger."

As they left Central Perk, Ross and Chandler exchanged worried looks while Joey continued to marvel at their growing friends.

"Man, can you imagine how tall they'll be by the end of this?" Joey grinned.

"That's exactly what we're worried about," Chandler replied, watching Monica duck to fit through the door.

"Maybe we should look into those supplements," Ross mused, flipping through his notes. "You know, from a scientific perspective."

But Monica and Rachel were already halfway down the street, their long strides carrying them quickly toward the training facility, each determined to outgrow the other - while behind them, Phoebe followed at her own pace, a knowing smile playing on her lips.

Competition day arrived with palpable tension in the air. The converted warehouse was packed with spectators, including Ross, Chandler, and Joey, who had secured front-row seats.

"I can't believe how much they've grown," Ross whispered, reviewing his final measurements from that morning. "Monica's at 7'8", Rachel's 7'5"..."

"Where's Phoebe?" Joey interrupted, scanning the crowd.

As if on cue, Phoebe walked through the entrance, and the guys' jaws dropped. She towered over everyone at an impressive 8'3", her physique perfectly proportioned and significantly larger than both Monica and Rachel's.

"Oh. My. God." Chandler's eyes widened. "How did that happen?"

Backstage, Monica and Rachel were comparing their final forms in the mirror.

"Well, at least my legs are bigger than yours," Rachel said, flexing her massive quads that stretched her shorts to their limit. Each thigh was nearly as wide as her waist had been just days ago.

"Yeah? Check these out," Monica replied, raising her arms into a double bicep pose. Her peaked biceps bulged impressively, dwarfing her head in size.

Their competitive comparison was interrupted by Phoebe's entrance. Both women turned and stared up - yes, up - at their friend.

"Phoebe?" Rachel squeaked. "How are you... when did you..."

"Turns out following the instructions works better than overdoing it," Phoebe shrugged, her broad shoulders rolling smoothly with the motion. "Who knew?"

Before either could respond, the competition organizer called everyone to attention.

"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the final judging of our Ultimate Women's Transformation Challenge! Contestants will be evaluated on overall physical development, proportions, and the effectiveness of their transformation."

The judging proceeded through various poses and comparisons. Despite their impressive development, Monica and Rachel's proportions showed signs of their rushed growth - slightly uneven muscle development, some asymmetry in their builds.

Meanwhile, Phoebe moved through the poses with unexpected grace, her perfectly balanced physique drawing gasps from the crowd. When the judges announced the winners, no one was surprised.

"In third place... Monica Geller!"

"Second place... Rachel Green!"

"And our grand prize winner... Phoebe Buffay!"

As they left the stage, Monica turned to Rachel. "We kind of messed up, didn't we?"

"You think?" Rachel laughed, gesturing at Phoebe who had to duck significantly to pass through the doorway. "We got so caught up in competing with each other that we missed the point entirely."

"And now I can do this!" Phoebe grinned, easily scooping up both Monica and Rachel in a bear hug.

"Okay, okay!" Monica laughed. "We learned our lesson! Now put us down before you wrinkle my competition outfit!"

Outside, they met up with the guys. Joey was practically bouncing with excitement.

"This is amazing! You're all like beautiful giants!" He paused, looking up at them. "Really, really big beautiful giants!"

"Speaking of which," Phoebe said with a mischievous grin, "who wants a ride back to Central Perk?"

Before they could protest, she had scooped up Ross and placed him on her broad shoulders. Monica and Rachel quickly followed suit, lifting Chandler and Joey respectively.

"This is both terrifying and awesome!" Joey called from Rachel's shoulders, holding onto her head for balance.

"Mostly terrifying," Chandler added from his perch on Monica, though he couldn't hide his smile.

"Just... just be careful of low-hanging branches," Ross cautioned, clutching Phoebe's head as they started walking.

The sight of three amazonian women carrying grown men on their shoulders drew stares from passersby, but none of them cared. Rachel's powerful legs carried her in long, confident strides, while Monica's strong arms kept a secure hold on Chandler's legs. Phoebe led the way, her towering height and broad shoulders making Ross look like a child in comparison.

"You know what?" Monica said as they walked. "Maybe this wasn't about winning after all."

"Maybe it was about the friends we grew along the way?" Rachel suggested with a laugh.

"No," Phoebe replied matter-of-factly. "It was definitely about winning. I just won better than you did."

They all burst out laughing, their combined height nearly blocking out the setting sun as they made their way back to Central Perk - ducking under every awning, sign, and tree branch along the way.

When they finally arrived at their favorite coffee shop, they had to problem-solve how to get through the door. In the end, they entered single file, each ducking low, still carrying their human cargo.

"So," Gunther asked as they carefully maneuvered inside, trying not to bump their heads on the ceiling. "Should I order taller coffee cups?"
