Hi Hi ✨

Story 5 of our halloween week! This one's a vampire tale with a twist - blood drain causes growth this time around. Might seem familiar to that story from last month, but we're in a different universe here! Really liking how this one turned out, might continue it later... 👻

But first, let me explain a few things about this world before you dive in...

In a world where female vampires have the unique ability to absorb size and mass from humans through drainage, a black market has emerged. They can temporarily grow to impressive heights by draining humans, with the effects lasting 24 hours. The wealthiest vampires maintain their status by buying "size stock" - captured humans kept for drainage before important social events. Most suppliers don't care where their stock comes from, but one supplier has her own moral code, only capturing those she deems deserving of punishment. This is just the opening scene but will definitely continue it in the upcoming days.

Also, do you like Luna with the red or white hair more? You decide!

Vampire Size Society

"Target's heading north on Marshall Street," Sabrina's voice crackled through Luna's earpiece. "Big guy - looks about 6'4", probably 240 pounds. Should give the client plenty to work with."

Luna pressed herself against the cold brick wall of the alley, her enhanced vampire senses picking up heavy footsteps approaching. "Criminal record?"

"Three assaults, two armed robberies, and suspected in a murder last month. Definitely meets your standards, boss."

"Perfect." Luna pulled out a small vial from her jacket pocket. "Get ready for your boost. Can't have you trying to take down someone that size at your regular height."

The footsteps grew closer as Sabrina emerged from the shadows, her 5'5" frame practically tiny next to Luna's 5'8". Luna passed her the vial containing a few drops of preserved blood - just enough for a modest growth.

"Bottoms up," Sabrina whispered, downing the contents in one swift motion. The change began immediately.

Luna watched as her assistant's body began to stretch upward. Sabrina's black tactical gear, specially designed for these operations, accommodated her expanding frame. Her legs lengthened first, followed by her torso, until she stood a more commanding 6'1". The whole process took less than thirty seconds.

"Not bad," Sabrina said, rolling her shoulders and adjusting to her enhanced size. "Though I still don't understand why you won't let me do a full drainage sometime. I mean, you've seen how the clients look at 7'6"."

Luna shook her head. "We're suppliers, not users. Besides, someone needs to stay relatively normal-sized to blend in with humans." She checked her watch. "Target's about to round the corner. Ready?"

"Born ready," Sabrina grinned, cracking her knuckles. "Though I still think it's funny how these guys never expect to get jumped by women. Even at 6'1", they always underestimate me."

The target's footsteps were just feet away now. Luna could smell him - a mixture of cigarettes, cheap whiskey, and something metallic that might have been blood. Her vampire senses confirmed Sabrina's assessment; he was big, which meant he'd fetch a premium price.

The man rounded the corner, his massive frame casting a long shadow in the streetlight. Before he could react, Sabrina stepped out directly in his path.

"Excuse me," she said sweetly, "I think I'm lost. Could you help me find-"

The man's face twisted into a sneer. "Get out of my way, lady." He tried to push past her, but Sabrina stood her ground, her temporarily enhanced size allowing her to at least match his shoulder height.

"That's not very nice," she pouted. "I just need directions to-"

He made the mistake they'd been counting on - he grabbed her arm roughly, trying to shove her aside. In an instant, Sabrina's demeanor changed. She gripped his wrist with supernatural strength, using his own momentum to spin him around.

Luna emerged from her hiding spot, moving with preternatural speed to press a chloroform-soaked cloth against his face. The man struggled, but caught between Luna's vampire strength and Sabrina's enhanced size, he didn't stand a chance.

As the target slumped unconscious, Luna's phone buzzed. She checked it while Sabrina began securing their acquisition with specialized restraints.

"Mrs. Rothschild again," Luna sighed, reading the message. "She needs to be 7'8" for some charity gala next week. Says her rival grew to 7'10" at the last event."

Sabrina whistled low as she finished binding the man's hands. "Size politics in high society are getting out of hand. Remember when 7 feet was considered impressive?"

"Times change," Luna shrugged, helping Sabrina lift their unconscious cargo. "The van's around the corner. Let's get him to the holding facility before your growth wears off."

They carried the man to their unmarked white van, specially outfitted for their unique line of work. As they loaded him in, Luna noticed Sabrina staring at their cargo thoughtfully.

"What's on your mind?" Luna asked, closing the van's doors.

"Just thinking... this guy could probably make someone grow to 7'6", maybe 7'8"." Sabrina ran a hand through her hair, still adjusting to her temporary height. "Don't you ever wonder what it feels like? The full transformation, I mean."

Luna's expression darkened. "No, I don't. And neither should you. We provide a service, that's all. Getting personally involved only leads to trouble."

"Says the woman who only captures criminals," Sabrina countered, climbing into the passenger seat. "Most suppliers don't care where their stock comes from."

"That's different," Luna said firmly, starting the engine. "I have standards. Lines I won't cross. Using the product ourselves... that's a slippery slope."

As they drove through the quiet streets, Luna's phone buzzed again. Three more messages from different clients, all demanding premium stock for various upcoming events.

"Business is booming," Sabrina noted, peering at Luna's phone. "The Blood Moon Ball must have everyone in a panic about their size."

Luna nodded absently, her mind already calculating how many more "acquisitions" they'd need to meet demand. "We'll need at least five more this size by next week. Mrs. Rothschild isn't the only one trying to make a statement at these events."

"Speaking of which," Sabrina said carefully, "are you sure you don't want to attend yourself? I heard some suppliers get invited if they're reliable enough. Might be good for business."

Luna gripped the steering wheel tighter. "I told you, I don't get involved in that side of things. We provide a service, maintain professional distance, and keep our heads down."

Sabrina held up her hands in surrender. "Alright, alright. Just saying, it might be interesting to see how the other half lives. Or should I say, how the other half grows."

They drove in silence for a while, their unconscious cargo secured in the back. Luna's mind wandered to their growing client list. The demand for size was increasing every month, and with it, the pressure to find suitable "stock." Her policy of only taking criminals was making things harder, but she refused to compromise on that point.

As they approached their holding facility - a converted warehouse in an industrial district - Sabrina suddenly straightened in her seat.

"Luna, look," she pointed at a figure stumbling out of a bar ahead. "That guy matches the description of the rapist from the news last week."

Luna slowed the van, her enhanced vision confirming Sabrina's observation. The man's gait was unsteady - he was drunk, which would make things easier.

"Two in one night?" Luna mused, already calculating the logistics. "Mrs. Rothschild did say she wanted to be at least 7'8"..."

"And I've still got..." Sabrina checked her watch, "about twenty-two hours of enhanced size left. We could take him easily."

Luna pulled the van into a shadowy spot and killed the engine. "Alright, but we do this quick and clean. No mistakes."

As they prepared to exit the van, Luna allowed herself a small smile. Maybe she wasn't saving the world, but at least she was making sure that when vampires needed to grow, it was bad people paying the price.

"Ready?" she asked Sabrina, who was already checking their supply of chloroform.

"Always," Sabrina grinned, her temporarily enhanced frame coiled with anticipation. "Let's go shopping."
