Hey spacers!
I’m sorry for the radio silence - but I have been hard at work on a Bad Space project!
In short I’ve been developing a pitch to create Bad Space series for screen. In fact, my plan is to create a series of pitches, that can be used to promote Bad Space to prospective backers.
The video footage is from some rough material we've been working on to visualize some of my stories a little more (I've worked with some other artists to do this, which is so much fun!).
Not yet, I’m afraid. But it does means we can make sure the stories get noticed by the right people. It also means that I can control the concept a lot more from the get-go. Which wouldn’t be the case if I just handed over the stories as they are to someone else.
This is important to me, because I feel like a lot of screen sci-fi has been stuck in a rut for a while, and I would like to introduce viewers to the kind of brutal, idea-driven sci-fi that I don’t feel gets much airtime. Not just cg spaceships and robots, but full-spectrum sci-fi that creates immersive, deeply thought-out worlds with hard AF science.
This is my chance to push that concept.
More art and animation as I create it - basically the inside scoop as I expand Bad Space into something that could work as a series.
I know conversely this has meant less comics from me lately, but it also means you are enabling me to create so much more as a result! I would love your continued support to do this.
I am committed to continuing to work on this. It is on the pause for the next couple of months, but I love the idea too much to just let it slide.
