Hey spacers!

I’ve been fascinated by sleep for a long time - and no, I don’t mean as an excuse to sleep in every morning, though god knows I wish I could. And not even as an excuse to talk about my dreams, which frankly have been disappointingly banal lately.

No, I mean the evolutionary reason for it. It seems like quite an extreme development, and yet is so ubiquitous throughout the animal kingdom. And our best guesses for why it evolved are fine, I guess, but frankly a little unsatisfying.

So I decided, fk it, I’m coming up with my own rationale. And so here we go, my latest story

This also ties into the notion I’ve seen knocking around, that time is a product of perception, a function of how the brain works, rather than an intrinsic property of the universe.

And of course, that old chestnut, what happens when we die? Creating new myths around this cul-de-sac is a joy, and one you’ve probably noticed I like worrying away at.

So, hey presto! I figured we just bounce back and forth in our own brains forever. Cause that sounds like fun, right?

Anyway, it was a fun idea to think about, because I am a monster.

As always, thank you for your support, team. I have a new idea I want to run past you too, once I develop it a bit more, so stand by!
