So here's a bit of detail about how I draw a panel, for those of you who are interested!
First of all I pour a whiskey. You can't see that in the video, but it's crucial to the creative process.
Next, I thumbnail the story to get the flow right, and then occasionally I do a couple more sketches to really flesh each panel out.
I use a lot of reference material - in this case a spaceman doll I just happened to have lying around.*
Then it's over to the iPad to draw the complete panel. A whole panel can take anywhere from two to six hours, so it's pretty time intensive. But I mostly find it incredibly restful and pleasant.
When it's going well, that is.
And that's where the whiskey comes in. That's for the times when I just can't make it work and I just keep worrying away at it, getting grumpier and grumpier. Ugh.
Really though, is any good art produced without some kind of drug - even if it’s just coffee and anti depressants? So I'm just gonna pretend I'm in good company.
Right. Better get back to it (the drawing, not the whiskey). I hope you're all having a great week. Talk soon.

*Okay, it wasn't just lying around. I'm a nerd. My house of full of fossils and spaceships.
