Anvil 093: 1891 Mosin/Nagant

We were loaned an unfired, pristine 1917 Remington Mosin, and I felt an obligation to show it next to two beat up trash rods. My apologies....."collectable , but well used", expensive examples with beat up bores.

The question of when a lack of maintenance turns into patina has yet to be answered, so I soapboxed the question yet again....."Two generations ago the owners of this gun stopped doing any maintenance , so I wouldn't want to start now and hurt its collector value"....
