Hi everyone,
Bruno here, sorry about the relative radio silence on our end, there's been quite a few things going on in the background between me and Mark brainstorming new ideas about how we want to produce episodes and at what pace, getting old jobs processed through the queue and out the door, and events and trips that we have to plan around. I want to outline all of that in this post so prepare for a bit of a wall of text.
1. SEWE
At the time of writing this, we are less than a week away from the annual SEWE (Southeastern Wildlife Exposition) show in downtown Charleston. We stepped back from making as much content this past month than we could have to let Mark try to finish all the pieces he wants to have on display in his booth. He will be showcasing some of the custom work he is doing/has done for customers and also a checkering demo live throughout the event. I will also be there to assist with running the booth and hopefully get some filming done of the booth and event. If you happen to be going to the expo come say hi.
2. Monthly micro updates
We decided we are gonna make the quick update videos like the ones we shot a couple of weeks ago into weekly updates. As Mark has mentioned a few times, there is quite a bit of work that runs through the shop. It is not always feasible to film a whole episode before it needs to be out the door and back to the customer. With that said, it is much easier to at least film quick episodes showing you some of the cool stuff in here. Our idea is to pick the coolest 4 things each month and make little videos talking about it. They might turn into full episodes, but if they don't at least you get a glimpse.
3. Full Anvil Episodes
With all that said, we still owe you guys the meatier episodes you've come to expect from us. We are going to try a new filming schedule, where Mark and I get together for two or three days in a row and knock out a big, complex project in sequence. Part of the issue with filming Anvil has always been that some projects were too complicated or long term to finish in one filming session. Doing it this way will allow us to show you more steps in the gunsmithing process.
Thank you to all the new patrons who pitched in last month and also the ones who've been here since day one. As always it's a pleasure to make gunsmithing content for you guys.
