Honestly, if I can chef for a retreat in these conditions, I think it’s safe to say I can do it anywhere...😅
The outdoor kitchen we were working with here was minimalistic with only a propane flat top, a sink, and a large cooler to store ingredients in. Thankfully we had two vans with more mini fridges and coolers and the owner of the land allowed us to use her oven🙏
The food being scattered about and having barely any kitchen appliances was only a couple of the many challenges. One of the biggest difficulties was facing the elements: the humidity, the heat, the thunderstorms and downpours, and all the little buggies flies, mosquitoes, and all!
But we made it work! ✨ Like anything in life ya just gotta roll with the punches. I had THE best partner in crime, Mariah, who became a very close friend after this experience. Wouldn’t have been able to accomplish any of this without her hard work and creativity in the kitchen too. She actually was the one filming this hehe
