Happy Valentine's Day...
Another day that a few big companies incredibly profit from... that makes many us feel lonely or inadequate, that puts pressure on relationships and gives others the need to show off their "perfect" love lives.
I always wanted that perfect Valentine's Day, a great gesture and expensive present. I always dreamed of the perfect relationship, wedding. The Disney story we were all sold...
And then I realised that the love of one's life can have many shapes. I gave birth to the man of my dreams, the love of my life, 3 months ago. I wouldn't want to spend this, and any other day with anyone else. I found my happiness.
For others that "soul mate" can be a best friend, a teacher, a pet. Romantic relationships are beautiful (if they are) but often they don't last and often there is heartbreak and pain and thats ok! That's life...
There is a love that you can have for sure, that is unconditional once cultivated - and that's the love you have for yourself. The love you can develop for others and for everyone. And if you are spiritual or religious, there's the "love of and for god". This love is a decision and it's created by us and it's a wonderful place to be.
Whether you are in a relationship or not, don't take this day too seriously. But create the feeling of love for yourself and for others - always.
