Parent’s cats update: Artie loves the new toys and the tunnel and has stopped randomly howling for the first time since the fire, Oscar has come out of hiding behind the shower curtains and is sitting happily in his new box.
Cute cat story time - so they generally have a pretty intense rivalry going on, Artie is much older than Oscar, so they don’t always get along. When the fire happened Artie was easily captured and taken to the family’s farm, but Oscar got spooked and hid under the deck (which was untouched) for 8 hours. When my parents finally brought Oscar to join Artie Artie came running down the stairs to see him and they touched noses and cuddled for hours. Which, considering how historically they’ve had no interest in each other is pretty freakin adorable.
