Finding you in the Alley: Macro Story

I stretched my massive limbs, feeling the cool concrete beneath me as I lay sprawled across the alley. It wasn’t the most luxurious spot, but it worked. Every day, I took up more space, growing, expanding—my body thickening like dough rising in the sun. I liked it. I liked being big. Huge. A mountain of flesh and comfort.

The alley was mine. The stray cats knew it. The pigeons barely fluttered away when I shifted. The humans, though? They still hadn’t learned.

Today, one of them wandered in. A little thing, barely up to my belly when I was sitting, trembling like a leaf in the wind. They stared up at me, eyes darting between my belly, my hands, my mouth. I could see it—the fear that I might roll over and crush them or, worse, that I might snatch them up and swallow them whole.

I sighed, the sound rumbling through the alley like distant thunder.

“You think I’m gonna eat you?” I asked, letting my voice drag slow and lazy, like I had all the time in the world. Because I did.

The little human swallowed hard, nodding.

I smirked. “I could. But that sounds like a lotta work. And I’m full.” I patted my belly, which gave a satisfying wobble. “Had some nice, greasy tacos earlier. Real good.”

They took a step back.

I raised a hand—big, heavy fingers curling like tree trunks. “Relax. I ain’t in the mood to chase nobody. Takes too much energy. And I like growing. Growing takes rest. Not running around eating every nervous little thing that walks in my alley.”

They didn’t look convinced.

I rolled onto my side with a deep, satisfied groan. The pavement cracked under my weight, but I didn’t care. “Tell you what, though. If you got a snack on you, I wouldn’t say no. Growing’s hungry work.”

The little human’s hand shot to their pocket, fumbling out a candy bar. They hesitated, then tossed it toward me like an offering to a god.

I caught it between two fingers, peeled it open, and popped it in my mouth. Tiny, barely a bite, but sweet.

“Not bad,” I rumbled, licking my lips.

The human took another step back.

I grinned, letting my massive teeth glint in the dim alley light. “See? No gobbling today. Now scram before I change my mind.”

They ran.

I chuckled, settling deeper into my alley, feeling the weight of my growing body press into the ground. Someday, I’d be even bigger. So big I wouldn’t need to move at all.

And then, they’d have to start bringing me snacks.
