"Strength in Every Struggle: Faith, Fight, and Forward!"
It has been a crazy whirlwind year. As some of you know, I was diagnosed with breast cancer in September 2023. I went through six rounds of chemotherapy from September 28 until January 18. With a continuation of antiviral drugs, which is still going on every three weeks. Then I had a full mastectomy with reconstruction on February 21. Fast-forward to March 26 and I got an infection in my expanders. Breast reconstruction failed for the time being and now I am a flatty. Oh, and did I mentioned I lost all my hair! Lol.
Started radiation in May and did it every weekday for three weeks. Lots of burns and stiffness of muscle in the area. Also, the mastectomy has caused me to have lymphedema. However, we are going to fast-forward until now. I am getting some fat grafting next month to start to fill in my chest again. Should have to do this 2 to 3 times and then fingers crossed we will be able to put in implants in January or February🤞🏼🤞🏼
Through all of this life has never stopped. I continue to work through my whole diagnosis and then was laid off in March due to lack of work. I can honestly say that OF saved my family. Did I forget to mention that my husband was laid off from his job in May 2023. I was making enough money at the time to tell him he could retire. It was a blessing in disguise as he was able to help me through my full cancer diagnosis.
Thank you guys so much for all of your support! I love and appreciate all of you more than you will ever know!
After a year of fighting and healing, I'm reaching out for support in my continued journey. Thank you for standing with me – your encouragement and generosity mean the world!
