Temptations DR Review Overall rating 8/10 (keep in mind that the resort is new and capacity was only about 30-40%. Also, we have never been to Temptations Cancun) Rooms 9.5/10 The room was bright, and simple. The room and shower are huge! The only “complaint” was the light under the bathroom sink did not have a turn off switch and the closet light was motion censored, therefore, you had to make sure the bathroom doors and closet doors were closed when you go to bed to avoid the lights. Food/restaurants 9/10 RAIN (Breakfast buffet) - omelettes, French toast (only had once and was soggy), pancakes, fruit, pastries, taco/fajita bar, mash potatoes/hash browns, meat - bacon/sausage/ham (typically one, and switches up). SHE (you need reservations) - food was smaller portions but delicious! I was expecting the performers to be on stage for a longer period of time. They did 3 very short( 2min ish) performances. They were good but short. Also, where they seated us, we couldn’t see the whole stage. FLAME - food was delicious! Steak is small SUTRA (Asian style) - didn’t get to try the sushi bar or order from the menu. You need reservations for the hibachi. Food was good, lots of food! (Rice, veggies, chicken, pork and shrimp, plus desert). ROMANZA (Italian style) - so much delicious food!!! No complaints AMORES (Lunch Buffet) - they had the same thing every day… rice, beef, pork, hamburgers and fries, pizza. It’s the only restaurant open in the afternoon. Lobby Café - great sweets and pastries, ice cream, coffee, ice coffee… Beach 9.5/10 We spent from 12pm-3pm on the beach. There’s a lot of room on the beach but limited chairs. It was fairly windy on the beach while we were there. The water wasn’t too warm or too cold. The water wasn’t clear enough to go snorkelling. There were good size waves to play in. There are no vendors on the beach! It says to keep your top on but many people were topless (myself included) the whole time. No one every corrected us. Weather 9/10 It typically rained over night and some mornings. There was only one day that the rain ran into the afternoon. Don’t let it stop you! It would rain (down pour) for like 5mins then be clear from 20-30mins then rain again. Eventually it stopped. Both pool bars had great coverage from the rain. Pools 6.5/10 QUIET POOL- we didn’t spend anytime here. We just went to the bar for drinks as there was no bar on the beach. The pool water looks yellow/green from the colour tiles they used. SEXY POOL- we would leave the beach around 3pm and head to the sexy pool. The staff (play makers) didn’t really get things going until 3pm. They seemed to play the same kind of games each day. They like to put chocolate syrup on the ladies. It’s either really thick syrup or really runny. And everyone washes it off in the pool. Be careful getting in and out of this pool. They painted the pool black so it’s hard to see the steps/sides/edges. The pools close at 7pm. Entertainment 7/10 PLAY MAKERS- they encourage you to participate but they only do about an hour or so of games by the sexy pool. The games seemed repetitive. EVENING SHOWS/BASH - they were scheduled to start at 10:30pm. They weren’t always on time. The little bit that we did see was good! We struggled to get there for 10:30pm, as there was a lot of down time between the pool closing, dinner and the bash. We would try to get in a nap. Excursion 10/10 We did one excursion that included a boat ride, whale watching, a beautiful island beach (full of vendors), lunch, a drive through town, horse back ride to a waterfall, swimming at the waterfall. It was a long day 8:30am-6:30pm, but well worth it!
