I was invited to New York for something work-related (lol not for SW, where are my FMTY clients??). I'm like cheap asf so my work always pays for business, but I always end up pocketing some money and flying economy instead. :') Cuz why not, it's not like anybody's gonna stop me lolll. Anyway, I decided to invite my mum to New York with me, all expenses paid of course. She lives in Perth which had one of the toughest lockdowns ever so she was really excited to go. My mum is super extroverted, loves talking and being around people and is easily excited. I absolutely love my mum, but I've always struggled with being around her for extended periods of time. I think where I went wrong was pushing my own personal boundaries to accomodate for her. The 30 hour+ plane flights and layovers, sharing a hotel room and just in general being around each other 24/7 was extremely overwhelming. But I'm glad I had this experience because I've learnt so much about myself. Like 1) ummm book a separate hotel room 2) communicate better with my mum about what my needs are and find a compromise. Anyway tough stuff. I'm a super open-minded person but I don't like to be too open about my feelings, needs, wants, etc. It's just not something I'm very comfortable talking about. :)
