Some people think attention is automatic, that they can just ask and receive. But that’s not how I work. My presence is a privilege, not a right.

If I speak to you, if I give you even a moment of my time—it’s because I decided you’re worth it.

But silence? That’s even more powerful. Because when I don’t respond, when I leave you waiting, wondering—it’s not because I didn’t notice you. It’s because I chose not to.
