I love walking. Sure, having a car had its comforts. Sure it was nice just have an air conditioner on hand wherever I went. Yeah, it was nice to have a place where I could store a jacket. But it was also just such a pain in the ass. And so isolating. One of the best part of when I started working for myself was not having to sit in rush hour traffic every day. Sometimes I wonder how much time was lost hunched over a steering wheel begging a light to turn green or staring impotently at a sea of gridlocked cars knowing that I had one mile and 55 minutes until I was home.
Even though sometimes my feet will hurt and the subway is kind of grimy and Uber costs an arm and a leg, I don't have to sit in Atlanta traffic anymore, and that's not nothing.
