So pertaining to my story post, this has been the most awful computer build / computer upgrade I've ever suffered through. Ugh. Where do I begin. So... I ended up with a truly insane situation where Micros.oft wouldn't let me sign in because it force.d me to do 2 things at once: update my securit.y information and reset my pin since so much hardware had been changed during the upgrade.

Doing both at once put my Microso.ft account basically on a 30 day hold since that's how long it takes to be allowed to use new securit.y information... so, post a handy expert friend of mine and a several hour long ca.ll with them, was able to ha.ck past that screen to get the computer to run an autologin and bypass the stupid pin update... But, the thermal paste that the new cooler came with was bad. After trying to Google it because I had concerns over it's viscosity indicating that it had basically lost its moisture (and by extension, thermal conductivity) and finally running some thermal cpu benchmarks after finishing the build, I immediately saw temperatures way above what would be comfortable. So I rushed to the store to get more--properly moist, btw--thermal paste, took off the cooler, cleaned the chip and cooler, put the chip back in.. (in hindsight I wish I hadn't unseated the cpu for the cleaning... I just wanted to be extremely delicate and careful with getting all the bad paste off and not letting it get around the board or socket since it was literally flaking)

Annnnnnnnnnnd, after putting everything back together.. errorcode c5. Apparently a pin got bent during the last rebuild. Omf.g. That's It. I tried in vain with a magnifying glass and light and tiny plastic need.le to prod the pins back into place and I think I did a good job, but not good enough.

So that's it. Motherboard dea.d. :/ I'm incredibly sad / frustrated that the absurd number of hours I put into this between yesterday and today went to waste, and that my computer is unusable/dead... and that I've probably lost a big chunk of this money :/ waiting on new part to come in: ill be back asap, and just. Ugh. Ugh!!! I can't even chat really to talk to you guys about this, b.c all I have for OF now is my phon.e. Cheer me up:(
