I know some of you have been with us for a long time, and may remember the summer days of artistic video descriptions...The semester has been so busy, that I haven't had as much time for it. However, I still have been writing my poetry (mostly for Alex). I think I am going to start posting it as an additional piece of content to give you all more of a look into our daily lives.
This was today's:
11/20/23 - The Longing in the Storm
In the gentle ballet of raindrops' descent,
I recline, a solitary figure, love's lament.
Beyond the window, a liquid tapestry unfolds,
Yet within these walls, the heartache takes hold.
A symphony, ethereal, on the window's plane,
Eliciting verses of love's intricate refrain.
Each droplet, a note in the fluidity of time,
A narrative etched in the recesses of the mind.
Contours of your smile, a distant recollection,
Filling the chambers of my introspection.
Raindrops mimic tears, obscure and unshed,
As I yearn for your presence in this empty bed.
Sheets, akin to cumulus tendrils, enfold,
A metaphor for passion, both tender and bold.
Pillows cradle dreams, an ephemeral waltz,
While raindrops compose a nocturne, soft and false.
The storm outside beats a rhythm, steadfast and sure,
A pulsating heartache that love must endure.
Yet, absent your silhouette, it's a hollow sound,
A heart lonely, the outside drowned.
