my body + my art 🎨 pussy on display 😽🌸 I crafted this piece a few years ago after reading "When Women Were Birds" by Terry Tempest Williams. The inspiration was flowing. It sat on the wall next to the front door of my apartment until I moved out in September 2020. It's been sitting in storage at my family's house since - I stumbled upon it as I was doing this self shoot and thought I'd take some photos with it. The cut-out was too perfect not to. When I painted this, I could have never have imagined that just a few years later, I'd be making art with it once again - this time, in the midst of making my dream life a reality - a life I was still only dreaming of when I painted this. Full (or semi-?) circle moments 🧡 Fun fact: I have small rectangle tattoos on my back and behind my ear that were both inspired by the same pages in the book that inspired this painting. My hummingbird tattoo was also inspired by the book 🪶 #fyp
