havin a great weekend, hope you all are too πŸ’›πŸ’› I had two New Orleans firsts today after living here for a year! I mentioned on stream yesterday that I've never had a crawfish boil or sno-balls, and my boyfriend, Justin, heard and decided we had to go do both today so we went and got a big bag of boiled crawfish, spread out some paper grocery bags over the table in the backyard, poured them into a pile and ate them with his roommate Tim they were so good but so much work to get to the meat haha by the time we finished I had the smallest pile of shells because I'm a fuckin crawfish noob, got absolutely rekt then we went out for snowballs, which Justin said are pretty much just like snow cones but he is so WRONG they're SO much better than snowcones and now he's got me questioning if he's ever had a snowcone. where I come from snowcone are either red flavor or blue flavor, not PASSION FRUIT, SATSUMA, FRESH COCONUT MILK, THAI TEA or any of these other amazing flavors!! also the consistency is amazing, instead of coarse distinguishable flakes of shaved ice, they've actually reproduced the texture of powdery snow! it felt like eating real snow I loved it!! I got pineapple + coconut, Justin got satsuma + pineapple + vanilla icecream in the center, and it was all so good now we're back at his place chillin, he's playing yakuza 0 and I'm playin Balatro with the help and guidance of his roommate's cat, Calvin perfect weekend πŸ’›

look at this amazingly cute Hollow Knight cookie that my friend Erin made!! (you may know her as Spiegel's wife, that masterful baker and cookie decorator)
she brought us a bunch of these, 2 for each of us, yesterday when we met in person for the first time and they were so incredible!! they were each hand decorated to look like geometric shattered fragments with different reflections of the little Hollow Knight guy (and they tasted amazing too)
also, I have definitely not been taking enough pictures but now's a good time to catch you all up on my weekend/Nick's trip here if you wanna hear about it!
so my friend Nick got in Friday evening while Cody was at work (so sadly she couldn't join us for this part) and we spent the night out and about with Heather enjoying the night life of Bourbon Street (a street here known for being wild and partying, lots of clubs and bars and people)
we started the night by getting really delicious burgers and loaded baked potatoes at a restaurant Heather knew called Port of Call (I kept accidentally calling it Call of Port but same thing), and when our Uber driver dropped us off he was so jealous we were going there and said he was tempted to turn off his app for the night so he could join us and get one of their loaded baked potatoes and put bbq sauce all over it (after I had eaten most of my potato I covered the rest with bbq sauce for the last couple bites just to try it and uh I'm glad I only did it for the last two bites..)
afterwards we went out and wandered Bourbon Street, drinking, people watching and just enjoying the vibes
we went to a karaoke place. I've only ever done private room karaoke, never on a stage in front of a crowd so I was a scared tbh, but I had another drink and said I'd only go up and sing if either Heather or Nick did a song too. Heather agreed and we both braved the stage back to back! Heather sang Bad Romance and absolutely fucking killed it complete with perfect French for the French part, and I sang I Write Sins Not Tragedies VERY badly but still got
